seeing other retailers selling it for around $110. haven't seen it this low since it came out a couple years ago.. gen 1 still going for ~$115-$130
The fact that it's usually VERY overpriced doesn't make this a good deal. It's just a simple USB DAC, and the brand SteelSeries does not inspire confidence.
Looks pretty cool I guess, if you like the gamer aesthetic. But I agree with inser1, who is this for??? Do many people have an Xbox and a PC both on their desk?

Tbh id love to see someone send one of these to amir @ ASR, i think they look awesome on the tablet but steel series isn't really known for making great audio products.
Who is this product for? I can't imagine a person checking all of these boxes
Gamer who sits at a desk (and play xbox for 1/2 the usecase)
Uses a wired headset
Uses a wired headset that requires an amp
Has $130 (now $70) to spend on this
High resistance headphones are typically not also headsets, and audiophiles may have issue with using expensive headphones to listen to random explosions and squealing kids.
Gamers may not want to be tethered to a desk and may not care about high fidelity in games as long as spacial positioning is good.
False gamers love wires have you ever seen a gamers desk, wireless has always been a gamer latency issue
I actually bought this to use headphones via usb audio out from my Zidoo z9x for watching movies. Works well for that. Also great mixer preset choice for Warzone on PC or Xbox/ps5. At this price for those use case scenarios great deal.

This may surprise you, but not every gamer plays only online shooters.

I can't tell if this only works with headsets, but as a casual gamer, my only real interest in this was to use it for enhancing audio on my wired headphones (partially games, but mostly music). I've had other headphone amps in the past and have loved them, so a PC-one was interesting and the price isn't bad.
Some headsets also have a relatively low audio to them, so this might also be used for boosting that -- again, not sure if this actually works for headphones though, or just headsets

Me.
I work from home and use Sennheiser HD569s with the microphone for teams. My beef with "audiophile" solutions is they drop microphone support.
I just need to know if this is plug and play AND how it handles tidal MQA files.

I have a PC, Xbox, and PS5 on my desk... but this product isn't for me though.
Not anymore, that's some old school thinking. Mice, keyboard and headsets have come so far that it's a non-issue for gamers, especially for people who are not even esport pros.
When have you ever seen a esports pro use a wireless headset....

Sure but they weren't even targeting you with this product. I'm sure plenty of folks will find use for this especially once the prices drops to be cheaper than the standard fiio amps but I question how large of a market they targeted with this and its original price point.

So let me ask you, are you an esports pro or play at the level of streamers like Tenz or Shroud? No? figured.
