Notice the difference in wording between this and the Office Depot Chase offer. On the Office Depot Chase offer, it says "Earn 5% cash back on all of your Office Depot purchases, until a $5.50 cash back maximum is reached."
However, on this offer, it says "Earn 10% cash back on your The Home Depot purchase, with a $54.00 cash back maximum." And then it also says later "Offer valid One time only." (which it did not say by the Office Depot offer).
So it seems very clear that this will only work on your first purchase, and not multiple purchases.
Thanks! I was looking for this information.
I purchased $500 digital gift card, and it now shows I saved $50. So for those who wonders if you need digital vs physical card, digital works

The difference is Staples actually sells third-party gift cards online, but the Staples offer says not valid on gift cards, so it's a bust either way.
That language is always present in T&Cs and the CB is issued most of the time. I may just risk it with a small GC purchase first, since we have time until April 30th.

I'd appreciate a direct message if it works for you. I've done many Home Depot offers, but they were never online only, and I've done offers with other merchants, but they never explicitly stated not valid on gift cards. Some, like Best Buy, have said not valid on corporate gift cards, but they would work with third-party.
