However, on this offer, it says "Earn 10% cash back on your The Home Depot purchase, with a $54.00 cash back maximum." And then it also says later "Offer valid One time only." (which it did not say by the Office Depot offer).
So it seems very clear that this will only work on your first purchase, and not multiple purchases.
I purchased $500 digital gift card, and it now shows I saved $50. So for those who wonders if you need digital vs physical card, digital works

Just trying to prepare my first order properly to maximize the savings. There are several things I need for the backyard but if I don't have to buy it all now and store it, I'd rather do it bit by bit while I can.

It clearly said purchase. I wouldn't chance it.
I, too, wonder: does the offer extend through multiple orders until the $54 max is met, or does it have to be in one shot? Language seems a bit ambiguous. Hmmmm
