Thanks OP! I'm not too far away from that area and just grabbed the 545 pro from Weymouth store. I've been wanting a 455 for a while now but held off because I don't like the plastic crankcase. The 545 pro saw with Magnesuim crankcase and auto tune at over $100 less than most places sell new 455s for is a great deal.

By the way.... For anyone interested, there were other gas powered Husqvarna gas powered yard tools there on clearance too. I saw an edger and a 435 chainsaw with a 16 inch bar. I didn't catch the clearance price on them because they were way up high and I couldn't read the writing on the tags but they had yellow clearance tags on them.

I'll tell you for certain that it's wrong. I got my saw today after brickseek said both the Husqvarna 545 and 455 were out of stock at the specific store in Weymouth MA that the OP referenced. They had 3 Husqvarna 455s still left on the shelf and 2 more 545s after I bought mine there.

The Lowes website also said it was out of stock there, so you can't believe either site and probably need to call and ask or drive down.

Showing $639 for me online.
I do have the rancher and am very happy with it, though it does leak bar oil ( blah)
Plenty of power for weekend firewood cutting and general clean-up.
If you can find either on clearance I would jump on it.
