Batteries won't need to be replaced in 5-10 years. Lithium iron phosphate batteries are good for 10 years of full discharge every single day.... And at that 10-year point, they still have 80% of their capacity left. So if you ran this every other day to near empty, and recharged to full, you'd get 20 years out of this battery and still have 80%.

The price of batteries is dropping about 5% every couple of months. If you're going to spend this much on a battery, much better to get solar first. You can DIY a nice solar system with portable generator back up for the same price and still get the 30% rebate. Unless something happens, the price of these will keep going lower and lower. Better to wait

Whole house generators are roughly $10-20k installed. They'll run for much longer. They will be louder.

This one qualifies for a 30% tax credit and will last 10 years

The same? One has a fixed capacity but can be charged with solar, the other has an "unlimited" capacity as long as your fuel doesn't run out.
Correction, the other "capacity" should last (roughly) another 5 billion years. Afterwards you might want to consider fossil fuels.

LOL....kids these days....thinking everything will last forever Wink

Would be nice if it was cost effective to have this utilized in a non-solar home for peak hours usage and recharge overnight at lower rates. But, even with the 30% tax credit and living in an area with obscene peak hour rates (@34 cents/kwh here), it probably doesn't pencil out.
It's actually doable and better use of dollars than getting solar because electrical companies are paying back less and less for solar you sell them. Best spend on batteries and use the power yourself.

Imagine thinking you will save electric money by buying this lol. This is basically just storing energy you pump to it. Then once used it's gone!!! This is basically a generator that will be dead in no time unless you have solar panels.

$7k for 12kwh and 7kw? Is this a joke? Seriously though, it's not like it even has the convenience of seamless transfer, you would still need a transfer switch.

As a reminder, the average home goes through, on average, nearly 30kwh a day. This thing might be able to last you 2-3 days if you don't have a lot on. For $7k it's quite a pretty penny.

Crazy how this is $7k and 12kWh while my Model 3 is around 55kWh, cost $29k, and can drive.

Take something out of the ground, light it, and it burns as fuel ..... and that unnatural ... But dig up trace amounts of cobalt, magnesium, toxic lithium, and use toxic chemicals to work with them, and manipulate them using other manmade specialized machinery, to create a battery pack that will pollute the earth when it's buried, rather than biodegrading ...... but the battery is the natural option ... LOL.

Wake up. The matrix has you.
Wake up? I thought people like you hate woke people? Can't have it both ways.

Also, people like you never gave one f*ck about the environment any other time, and now that you have turned into a tree hugging hippy because batteries hurt your feelings? No one cares... Get your political bias off this deals site, it doesn't belong here. Also, watch me spend my money on whatever I want to spend it on hippy. Stay asleep, the cult has you lol.

How would you get this installed? I have solar and want a battery solution.
Any decent electrician can install a transfer switch. Very similar, if not the same, as for a gas back up gen. Smart oanel install should bot be any harder, but you won't find as many with direct installation experience.

This looks so tempting. I just dont know if I can get this to work for my setup.

I would love to get some advice if anyone feels up to some knowledge share.

I have 39 solar panels with enphase inverters that is grid tied to my current 200amp panel.
I was thinking of setting up this panel 2 with essential breakers like fridge, well pump, water system etc and then have the delta pro ultra be a backup or UPS for the subpanel. I have frequent electricity drops (2-5 seconds, sometimes several minutes).
I also wanted to know if this would either be grid charged or solar charged or even generator.
Yes, the system is made for this milliseconds switch over. Yes to those power sources

We're going through the process of redesigning and then remodeling the home. Our plan is to add batteries in the coming years and we decided to no house then inside the house. Our concern is that if there is a fault in the battery it could end badly when stored inside as suppose to outside. Food for thought

The only car/truck with active bidirectional charge is Ford F150. Lucid in theory has it but no home charge exists and never scene homeowner have it yet. VW and others claim will come but nothing yet.
Ford system has battery also and it's almost $8-10K for that to work.
The Hyundai Ioniq line has bidirectional charging, but I haven't seen anything about home backup integration. I hope they'll come out with something at some point. Tesla doesn't seem to have any interest in it for some reason. Maybe they just don't want to cannibalize their powerwall business.

I think the idea is that this would be integrated with a solar panel install, so you would be continuing to recharge it during the day. They also have a smart home panel, which is basically a sub panel that can kick on in 20ms in the event of a power outage, so there is the option for seamless transfer. Also factor in a 30% rebate on all this. Not saying it's not expensive, but I'm not sure it's as bad as you're making it out to be.

That's with a plug for Ioniq. It can't power your home. Couple appliance and your tapped out
It's called vehicle to load (V2L) and here in the states it's single phase 1800watts max. I have 20amp inlet connected to my panel and can power every other breaker that's not a 240. IIt works, I have fridge, deep freezer, lights, router all connected. But living in SAn Diego with the crazy investor owned utility, would like to lower the charges just for using the their equipment. I would like the ultra(s) and smart panel 2 to fully power my hybrid water heater and mini split system. I have grid tied solar but the utility kWh costs. I would like to try this route.
