For anyone that doesn't know, if you search Facebook for dicks coupons you can almost always find a 20% off coupon posted to support a local youth sports team.

Sometimes the coupons are store specific or for a particular category of items, but not always, the coupons will generally say where they apply, so just search.

I've done this a few times and I'm sure the local youth sports program appreciates this unknown monetary kick-back they get for the coupon being used.
Finally, back to the pre-COVID price, except they changed the Shimano derailleurs to MicroShift components.

These are very nice bicycles for the money. Don't expect to go wild on trails, but for any light off-road or city rides these will be just fine. The Tektro mechanical disc breaks leave something to desire, and depending on your use, you may want to upgrade the brakes to Shimano MT-200 value hydraulics.

DICKS assembly service is about as mediocre as it gets. Probably depends on your local store, but this was my experience (twice). The catch is that according to the terms, if you want to be able to return the bicycles, you must let them assemble it for you.
If you're talking about your local Walmart store, that may be true. But there are bikes sold by Walmart on their website that I'd take over this.

This bike used to dip down to $300 regularly, glad to see it is back.
Better than anything you will buy at walmart.

Old frame design and old drive train style - check out Ozark Trail Ridge or Schwinn Axum for a modern bike (the Mongoose Ardor is also good but the drive train is lacking range for beginners).

This is still good for light trails though, just the newer designs are a lot more capable.

Walmart actually makes a decent MTB now. Either place you'll probably have to have it checked out by a bike shop if you can't do mx yourself.

Walmart bikes are usually $100 or less right?
Is this bike (which from the comments seem like an average not bad but not great bike) worth $300?

Makes sense as Bentonville is a mecca for mountain biking. Couldn't believe how many bikers were there until I had to go for work

Their bad bikes are $100 or less - their legit MTBs are $300-500 and have frame designs comparable to big brand entry-level bikes int he $600-700 range. I've taken my Schwinn Axum DP with some upgrades to the bike park and black diamond trails - the GT aggressor pro wouldn't be able to handle them. My pick out of the box now would be the Ozark Trail Ridge (more aggressive than the Axum and 29" tires) but it doesn't come with a dropper post (can get one for $100 on sale major sites) but it has more range and a better fork than the stock Axum DP.

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Ozark-...&sharedid=

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Schwin...om=/search Less aggressive than ridge but comes with dropper post and can fit wider tires.

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Mongoo...irect=true As aggressive as ridge with 27.5 boost tires but 7x drive train is limiting (need to change rear wheel or hub if you want to upgrade) and no dropper post but itis very capable and handles fast (tuned a friends).

The GT agressor isnt bad, I worked on a friends and the frame if I remember right is Taiwanese. But its an older design that is less capable than the new Walmart bikes and the 3x drive train is a pain at times if you need to tune it.

Old frame design means more steep geometry with quicker steering which is worse for a mountain bike going down a hill, but it is better for most people that do casual mountain biking between hitting streets.

Old 3x8 means massive gear range which isn't needed for a mountain bike going down a hill, but is nice for someone riding on the roads and casually mountain biking as most people do. While it also means some more annoyance in adjustment occasionally, it means you can shift down under power going up a hill.

It really just depends on if people want the new style of mountain bikes, or more an old style of mountain bike that people are liking for gravel bikes.
