Grabbed a T100 with lens and added the 75-300 and that went from $99 sale priced to $60. Haven't seen a refurb sale this good for years, decent kit that can shoot good video for well under $300 TMD.

some hot deals in here, but the SD crowd unfortunately now is rife with flippers who will grab everything and either throw it on various marketplaces or sell to used retailers.

also $1900 for the 85mm f/1.2 is a big discount off even the cheapest new prices. i don't think it even made it onto the black friday sale last year where there were super hot prices (ex R5 for $2199)

its not always about aperture . its quality of glass also .. 1.2 and 1.4 mostly use better glass then 1.8's , also you will see more 3d pop on same aperture value on L glass . may not be very important for us but it could be make or break for professionals ..

Agreed. It's too bad Canon will never make a similar lens on the RF mount. (or allow other companies to make lenses on their mount)

The R100 focuses on the sensor, so you never have to calibrate a lens' focus offset. Not ras much of a problem with Canon glass, but if you pick up something like the Sigma 18-35 f1.8, I spent hours calibrating it for my 70d, and it never quite got there throughout the zoom range

Yes great "non-L" lens for crop sensors. Worth to have it in your arsenal and replace your kit lens. Especially for this price.

I bought this for my daughter to use to take pictures of school sporting events and it is a fantastic lens. For the price, keep it and if you got to a different Canon buy an adapter or if you sell.on the used market, you could sell for almost what you paid. Even I lose a couple of hundred bucks it was well worth the pictures that were taken. Check MPB but for the price you are getting it for I would rather buy directly from Canon.

The 1.2 and 1.4 have a glow that the 1.8s don't. But yeah, unless you're a pro or willing to practice a lot the 85mm 1.2 is overkill. The 50mm 1.4 might be better way to start with big apertures. You really have to adjust how you take pictures with them, since the focus points etc will all be different.

As an example, you can't really focus on someone's nose and hope it comes out; it'll look weird because the rest of the face will be blurred out. At an angle it'll look even more odd. And 85 will be even more up close and personal than the 50, which is already kind of finicky.

Recent comments have revealed that Canon has begun a dialogue with third party lens partners. I'm sure it's a ways to go until a licensing agreement was made, but at least the possibility has actually begun to have a chance to actually happen.

The T100 is not mirrorless, it's a DSLR. It's basically the last DSLR design canon made primarily to sell in walmart for the lowest price they could. It uses 2012 era tech, so despite being "newer" than a SL2, it's actually much older.

The SL2 is a superior camera in every way over a t100.
