Yo I spent like an hour trying to figure this out and ended up going down a rabbit hole of SD card hieroglyphics...

From what I can tell the SanDisk has a slightly faster read/write time (150 mpbs vs 130 mpbs) but the Samsung is rated better at video and has faster minimum read/write speeds with apps.

To answer your question, when you consider the Samsung was $25 and this SanDisk is $28, I would think the Samsung slightly edges it. Although if you're using the card strictly for data transfer of files and the like, the SanDisk should be the better choice.

The Samsung is currently $30 though...

Either way 512 GB for under 30$ is awesome. I still remember how amazed I was at seeing the first 1gb card

I used to believe Sandisk microsd was the top until I had a few failed ones. Switched to Samsung and never had an issue since. YMMV but just my experience.

Not really.
They don't want you expanding your memory so that you use/pay for their Cloud services. Easy money for them!

Perfect timing. I've been wanting a big storage card for the steam deck and this is an outstanding price, from a legit brand.

In for 2. One for the Deck, one for the Switch. Thanks and repd OP.

Doesn't Samsung have better write consistency than SanDisk? Over long term constant writing?

I dunno about that, I think they're both reliable. I've had no problems with either. SanDisk is made by Western Digital which is a decent company. But if your preference is for Samsung that's understandable. Typing this from my S22 Galaxy lol

The read/write speeds are very similar. Warranty for each is 10 years. I purchased the Samsung SSD card. There are too many complaints about SanDisk honoring the warranty.

Samsung has much better write speeds. Sandisk microsd do not. Samsung microsd also don't heat up as fast or as much as Sandisk.

It's one for the money; two for the show.

What's insane to me is that you can get 1 TB for under $100 and it's the size of your fingernail.
