Yo I spent like an hour trying to figure this out and ended up going down a rabbit hole of SD card hieroglyphics...

From what I can tell the SanDisk has a slightly faster read/write time (150 mpbs vs 130 mpbs) but the Samsung is rated better at video and has faster minimum read/write speeds with apps.

To answer your question, when you consider the Samsung was $25 and this SanDisk is $28, I would think the Samsung slightly edges it. Although if you're using the card strictly for data transfer of files and the like, the SanDisk should be the better choice.

The Samsung is currently $30 though...

Either way 512 GB for under 30$ is awesome. I still remember how amazed I was at seeing the first 1gb card

I used to believe Sandisk microsd was the top until I had a few failed ones. Switched to Samsung and never had an issue since. YMMV but just my experience.

Not really.
They don't want you expanding your memory so that you use/pay for their Cloud services. Easy money for them!

Why are the phones with more memory so expensive while the price of memory is getting lower and lower.. and they also took away the external sd card support. $hit apple started this trend, and others followed in name of security yada yada.

"512GB" + "Write Speed: 10 MB/s" - writing forever.
No, thanks.

The phone makers wanted to go towards wireless charging and take away all the ports so that they could make their phones waterproof.

Sealed Phones: Unable to upgrade memory inexpensively, or change dying battery.inexpensivly. Both changes happened almost simultaneously. But the phones are still not waterproof.
(A) You can't change battery cheaply, so you tend to buy a new phone. *Planned Obsolesce* = Large Profits
(B) Why pay $50 - $75 - $100 extra for more storage?
Money Grab ...more profits
(C) Surveillance State is a reality, your phone pings the local tower until the battery dies 100%. ..saying HERE I am, HERE I am, HERE I am. And what else goes to the mothership?

nothing to do about waterproof or thinner or whatever bs they claim. Just like the batteries its all about charging more and trying to make you upgrade...

Perfect timing. I've been wanting a big storage card for the steam deck and this is an outstanding price, from a legit brand.

In for 2. One for the Deck, one for the Switch. Thanks and repd OP.
I use the Silicon Power cards with my Deck which are always this price and they work great.

In one of the previous threads for the Samsung card, I posted this deal and mentioned how I got a couple of these for my Wyze cams. I got downvoted and was told that these cards are not designed for that, but then others said that wouldn't be a problem.

Anyway, they've been working great and enough time has passed that I now know I can store up to 52 days of recording before it starts overwriting the older footage. My previous cards (32GB or 64GB) could only store up to 3 days of footage before being overwritten, so I'm very happy with these.

It is ridiculous...an iphone is $100 for every 128GB. If this were an Apple card it would be $400

Walmart has the card below for $26.98. Seems to be very similar to this one.

SanDisk 512GB ImageMate microSDXC UHS I Memory Card - Up to 150MB/s - SDSQUA4-512G-Aw6ka
