Looks to run a tad bit slower on the boost out of the box (2610MHz vs 2625MHz) but runs a bit quieter (30.9 dBA vs 31.2 dBA), cooler (66.2c vs 67c), draws a bit less power when gaming (282 vs 297) and could overclock a bit better (reached 2866 while the PNY hit 2845) per reviews on TechPowerUp for the PNY [techpowerup.com] and Zotac [techpowerup.com]

If you're willing to take a credit hit for a hard inquiry, you'd be better off applying for a credit card with a cash back offer and applying it to the purchase. If your credit is too poor to get a real card, maybe focus on that first (not judging, though).

Would this ZOTAC 4070 Ti Super be better than the PNY version posted last week?

Thank you for the thorough reply! I may return the PNY because I can save ~$60 while gaining some of these benefits. In addition, a few people have mentioned the thermal pads on the PNY can dry up so I'd rather not have to deal with that! Hopefully Zotac doesn't have the same issue.

So I'm really looking at getting a 7900 XTX for my new build. The PowerColor Hellhound 7900 XTX seems to get a massive discount down to ~$790 with these promos. Is that worth it? Is the PowerColor a good enough card at that price?

Use: general modern 1440p gaming. May upgrade my monitor to a UWQHD and two satellite monitors to get into Sim Racing.

Looks like the PNY is also the same price after $10 coupon and Zip Pay: https://www.newegg.com/pny-geforc...6814133865

Their site says it is a soft inquiry. Is that not accurate? Not being a smartass, just asking.

Not sure about their newer stuff but pny always been pretty trash

I am also biased bc their rebates are a joke, but expect buzzing fans within a year or two.

That's a totally fair question. I am always dubious when a company claims its checks are soft, especially when they add caveats like "when you apply", and you have no practical recourse if they run a hard inquiry, but it seems like some independent reviews agree (but may just be parroting Zip's site). Maybe, then it is a decent deal if you're willing to jump through a couple of hoops.

Has anyone used the Zip pay and can tell us first hand how it shows on the credit report?
Zip says its a soft pull but anyone confirm that?

Its particularly important if someone was for example about to apply for a home loan and a negative impact to your credit score could cost you a whole lot. Better to be safe and not risk it in such situation. If people don't know this Zip deal might hurt your score then they might do it unknowingly.

Thoughts on this gaming desktop? TBH, I don't PC game, but the GPU comes in handy for hardware transcoding when editing/rendering in Adobe Premiere.

Thanks.

If I didn't just get a perfect condition 6800 xt for 280.00 I'd probably of gotten the 7900 gre for 453. The 4070 ti super aint bad, but 15% more performance on average for an additional 200 dollars doesn't seem worth it.

Its refurbished which isnt necessarily a bad thing, but only a 90 day warranty. There are better deals to be had. Lots of dealers seem to be marking down these cpus and cards atm, my guess, is there is a oversupply and a soon to be release/announcement which will cause them to go down further. Unless you need it today, I'd wait. I've seen similar stuff and even better for about the same price range in the last two weeks.
