Looks to run a tad bit slower on the boost out of the box (2610MHz vs 2625MHz) but runs a bit quieter (30.9 dBA vs 31.2 dBA), cooler (66.2c vs 67c), draws a bit less power when gaming (282 vs 297) and could overclock a bit better (reached 2866 while the PNY hit 2845) per reviews on TechPowerUp for the PNY [techpowerup.com] and Zotac [techpowerup.com]

If you're willing to take a credit hit for a hard inquiry, you'd be better off applying for a credit card with a cash back offer and applying it to the purchase. If your credit is too poor to get a real card, maybe focus on that first (not judging, though).

Any recs for a card?
Id say the best card I've used and has a decent cash offering if you spend 3k in 6 months is Blue Cash Preferred® Card from American Express. First year is free, but then 95.00 a year. But you get 6% back on groceries 6% on streaming services and 3% on gas. It earns me about 300 a year after paying the fee. YMMV.

Cards vary a lot and the best ones really depend on what you can qualify for and afford to spend toward, but my last couple of Chase bonuses were $900 and $1,000, though I typically look for not less than $300 for a hard pull.

My earlier comment about a hard pull from Zip may not be accurate, however. See comments above.

Based on what I'm reading of you, deal with your local credit union on a credit card. It won't have the best rewards out there, but it will have better rates, no annual fee, and likely more of your interest in mind over their own.

That's a totally fair question. I am always dubious when a company claims its checks are soft, especially when they add caveats like "when you apply", and you have no practical recourse if they run a hard inquiry, but it seems like some independent reviews agree (but may just be parroting Zip's site). Maybe, then it is a decent deal if you're willing to jump through a couple of hoops.
"ziphoops" if you will...

Their site says it is a soft inquiry. Is that not accurate? Not being a smartass, just asking.
I bought a 4070 for $490 using zippay the last time Newegg + zippay did this and AFAICS there were no credit queries at all.

You can always dispute the inquiry. If they say it's a soft inquiry but they do a hard, you can dispute it and say you never authorized it. It's a pain but I was able to get a soft inquiry off when a site said no credit check but they did a soft.

Has anyone used the Zip pay and can tell us first hand how it shows on the credit report?
Zip says its a soft pull but anyone confirm that?

Its particularly important if someone was for example about to apply for a home loan and a negative impact to your credit score could cost you a whole lot. Better to be safe and not risk it in such situation. If people don't know this Zip deal might hurt your score then they might do it unknowingly.
If anyone is about to buy a home, never buy anything on credit or apply for new credit till you close onthe home.

I'd personally take an asrock over gigabyte but yeah, a 3 fan card would be ideal

thought many reviewers say GRE is underwhelming. did AMD 'fixed GRE' for the re-tests?
