I have 2 kids with QC45. Gone through 3 returns. 1 stopped working completely, 1 got crackling, 1 started to melt at USBC connection. Quality wasn't what I expected from Bose.

FYI if you want an easier return pathway and a slighter newer model, the QC45 SE is $170 with free shipping at costco.com

I have two of the (older) QC45s and I happen to really like them. Some of my family prefers the slightly-more-expensive Sony, but they're both great IMO.

Supposedly Sony MX5 not counting "expensive" units. I have many (with only one head, my wife asks why?) and my go to is the Bang & Olufsen H9i despite better reviews for my others (JBl Club One which is too heavy, Seinheiser PXC 550ii and the Jabra 85h).

I love my QC45s. I have been using them for multiple years. I wear them outside when I run and have brought them on trips. They have held up very well for me and the battery life has been great.
