On two separate orders with Dell Refurbished (FedEx Recycling), the Dell Latitudes that we received arrived in poor condition, and these were supposed to be "Grade A" versions. They look very used, scratched, missing paint on touchpad keys, etc. FedEx Recycling is not the same as Dell or Dell Outlet.

Desktop boxes purchased from FedEx Recycling have been very good though. These Latitudes may have had multiple users and were not treated very well. We've owned and used many new Dell laptops for many years and they remained looking mostly new, years later.

These corporate or government leased laptops were not treated with much care and respect over the years. It was terribly insulting to ship either of these as "Grade A" quality. Our two purchases were supposed to be 2-3 years old. Their appearances looked like they were used for 10+ years in a very public mobile environment, like a rental agency, hotel guest loaners, investigators, etc. This wasn't based on one purchase, but two separate orders.

YMMV.

I had a similar issue. I stuck to my 4th replacement due to not wanting to deal with another exchange. My last one appeared to have hoovered up a full dog with the amount of fur all over and inside. Spent an hour or so cleaning it up. My first had the trackpad and random keyboard keys stop working sporadically after a couple months. Second looked like it was thrown against a wall with all the dents, and screen pressure damage. Third had a broken camera.

However, Dell support is generally fantastic. They ended up doing a partial refund even though my last replacement was also out of their warranty period slightly.

But Grade A does not appear to be the same it used to be.

To note, if your battery is under 80% capacity or so, they will send you a replacement.

Received my $300 Latitude 7310 last Friday. The overall appearance can match the 'grade a' description except that the bottom cover looks used with quite a few scratches. The screen, keyboard, touch pad, fingerprint sensor are in good shape and the hinge also feels firm. However, the battery is severely worn: The design capacity should be 52 Wh while on this one the max capacity is less than 30 Wh. Contacted Dell with emails and calls, they agreed to ship me a battery but so far no shipment has been made yet. Will keep update here if I receive the new/refurbished battery. I will keep the laptop if the new battery works well; but will ship it back if not receiving the new battery.

I don't recall receiving notifications for the battery replacement. It just showed up after a week or so.

Thanks for the info. Did you call them or email them to ask for the battery? Is the replacement batter new or refurbished? When I called them, the csr told me that the replacement battery will be a refurbished one.

I called. They just told me if it wasn't the correct capacity to contact again.

I got a 100% capacity replacement.

You literally keep a deal alert to post your PSA, don't you? You cut and paste this in ever Dell thread. I've ordered 5 laptops and all but one were pristine. The one that wasn't took a 5 minute call to get swapped for another which was also pristine. Do you get paid to counter-shill? Their customer service is so accommodating and will send out a battery replacement as well as anything else you need, on your word.

They don't refurb batteries. You just get a new one. This was confirmed by my favorite CSR there.

Looking for a laptop. I was considering Dell Refurbished but also looking at Dell Outlet. Would Dell Outlet be my better option.

exact same story here with my Dell Latitude 7310. bottom case had a few scratches but it looks fine overall. the battery capacity was at 40% of new, and I wrote CS with that info and they sent me a new one; received two weeks later.

Windows 11 upgradable depends on the CPU. Mine $300 refurbished Latitude 7310 (10th gen i7) was able to get upgrade without any issue. I think this one should have no issue as well but do check with Windows 11 compatible CPU list to confirmation.

Sounds like you're better off going with a good eBay seller that offers the Allstate warranty. I don't think you're saving much with these deals over that avenue
