One day we will be able to smoothly play PS2/Wii/GC games on one of these budget devices.

Right now I'm good with using a old phone with a Snapdragon 845, slapping a controller on it and it exceeds any these SBC devices in the 100 dollar range.

If you buy this, don't forget to install the Gamma OS on it.

Huge performance increase

Great price, nice find. It's as powerful as the retroid pocket 3+ but with a bigger, oled screen. Not my favorite device but a terrific machine for the price.

Being that it's Android based, is the start up time slow and menus slow loading? The Retroid Pocket 2 I used to have was beyond slow with that Android interface. It took over a minute just to boot up. I'm considering this or the Anbernic 35xx H, which is much cheaper.

This has 4GB of RAM so it should be decent on Android. It may not boot up as quickly as the 35xxh but it is more powerful and can emulate some gamecube/wii and all n64 whereas the 35xxh can only emulate some n64. The Linux handhelds are more user friendly having a really nice launcher with game art, but the Android devices win in options and available software. Linux devices can play Linux games whereas Android devices can play Android games so it really just comes down to preference.

I run PS1 through PS2 on a Logitech G Cloud (roughly equivalent performance to an RP3+) and it's perfect. Already have a backlog of at least 800 games, even by restricting myself to top 100 per system. There would be limited value in adding more/newer systems, but yeah that device already exists in the RP4 Pro. Naturally, it will only get cheaper over time

Odin 2 is of course out there, but at such a high price point it doesn't really deserve to be in the convo

Yeah, it's a solid value, esp considering where things were at the end of last year. Now that the Retroid Pocket 4 and RG556 just came out, I'm thinking to wait for a deal on one of those.

I bought this, installed GammaOS and printed these https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6243932 to have stacked L and R triggers. So far so good.

Agreed, wish the oled was brighter but it's still beautiful. Overall a really nice device to play retro games on

Same screen as the original PS Vita. Prone to blotching. Need to be careful not to sit on the device or apply pressure to the screen.

I got the gray one and put PS-inspired buttons in it. Epic PlayStation portable.
