Almost all of these Orico drive carriers these days use a shitty cheap Norelsys chip. It does NOT do UASP, even though Orico claims it does, and it's well-know to be super buggy under linux, Mac, and barely works under Windows. Google for more info.

They are OK IMO. Dont eject the HDD after use but it could be the drive (Seagate always but sometimes WD).

Here's an alternative: $5.99 with a 20% discount for 2. Different colors with different cords go for as little as $5.59 each but the 20% discount only applies to some models.

Or this one for $7.99, which has both USB-A and USB-C. Then again, I can also do that with the one above as well as this SlickDeal by swapping out cords. But it's nice to not have to carry several cords around. The problem may be that it has a non-removable cord. I'm not sure so I left a question on Amazon.

I remember an old orico ad, it always made me laugh with their saying of "Stable power".The best broken english you can find is Orico. This was for a sata enclosure for newegg. I guess if anything, it has been years and they are still in business if that helps anything.

do you have any recommendations for a very reliable, high quality enclosure?

Are you saying even drives that explicitly mention UASP do not have it?

They must've changed the product description because now it doesn't say Type C

This expired but I do not see the typical link to report that.
