Was at Walmart and this drive is on clearance for $27 (bought one at Walmart just a couple weeks ago on clearance for $40). Seems to be in-store only ($48 online). There were 3 at my store, not sure how widespread this is.

Some other drives that have been spotted with the yellow tag clearance:

WD Black SN850 1TB Gen 4 NVMe: $60 (might be in the PlayStation cabinet)
WD Black SN770 500GB Gen 4 NVMe: $29 or $31.50
WD Blue SN570 1TB Gen 3 NVMe: $42

WD Black D10 8TB external drive: $108 (allegedly can be schucked for an HGST enterprise drive within)
WD Black D30 500GB external SSD: $35
FYI, this is what the average great Walmart employee thinks of someone asking about inventory from Brickseek.

Walmart employees calling others losers. ๐Ÿ˜‚
Lol, that is an interesting thread, thanks for sharing. Like, I understand that some (a lot) of customers are probably awful, but c'mon - if I'm just asking you them to simply check if an item shows in stock with their in-store scanner tool, is that really that much of an inconvenience to them? Like, that's specifically part of their job description, to help customers find the items we're looking for.

Anyway, interesting insight into the mentality of a Walmart employee (or at least some Walmart employees).

WD blue 1 TB was $15 at my store, 500 GB $10. Also had a PNY 500 GB that comes with a USB 3.0 adapter and Acronis software for $10. Model #M280CS2140. Any good?

Wow, nice. The specs on the PNY are fine, nothing special. It's interesting that both the nvme and 2.5" sata ssd kits come with a usb adapter. That alone is worth a few bucks. They're handy to have around.

Does anyone know if I can use this for my ps5?
You can use the black for PS5, which is also on clearance.

Yeah, I bought a 1TB Solidigm P41 Plus (for spare storage on a laptop) last Fall for something like $35 from Newegg. Nothing close to that now.

Unfortunately, if Brickseek is correct on pricing, none of the stores near my have lowered the price on the WD Blue 500GB yet. They are all hovering at $43.
Brickseek doesnt usually reflect the clearance prices as they are always like an in-store special.

I always have bad luck with these clearance deals, but I actually snagged this one.

Picked up a 500gb Black SN770 for $29
Blue SN570 for $27
1TB blue for $42

SSDs are terrible right now and projected to go up even more most likely, THANKS OP!

Most Walmarts in my area were out of the 1tb but was lucky to find one 8 miles away for $42. Plan to put it i my new $380 Vivobook from Best Buy a few weeks ago.
Walmart also had the 512gb black model for a similar price. The same thing in blue was about $24 or $27.
Thank so much for sharing this OP!

Now just need a way to clone the original drive onto this. Or perhaps just start fresh with a bootable win11 usb stick and mount to this new drive.

That has changed from the old days. Usually, the price on BS was accurate, but not always the stock count. I guess I'll take a small detour today and check a store or two near me. I need one to upgrade a SATA M.2 in an old Core i5 8th Gen laptop.

Is it possible they are the clearance price in store only vs the price I see for pickup today on their website/app? On their website it's the regular $43 for the 500gb at all surrounding stores that have it in stock although one was at $39...

Blue 1TB was 42 when I went and looked today. I grabbed the 500 Black for $29 instead, and a 1TB external drive for $36 since I just upgraded my laptop and don't have a backup drive for this new PC

In store price showed correctly for me when I was in the store on their app, but showed the higher price online when I checked from home.

1tb black was not marked down at my store. $75 is the regular price.
