You're right. Guess I'll stick with my Captain Crunch, Trix, and Lucky Charms!
Heart healthy it may be, but not healthy otherwise with 12 grams of added sugar per serving. Regular Cheerios has 1 gram of added sugar per serving.
Now for the hearth benefits.
This product provides 0.75 grams of soluble fiber per serving, regular Cheerios provides 1.5 gframs
This product provides 22 grams of whole grain per serving, regular Cheerios provides 34 grams.
Making the cereal pieces hearth shaped is good for marketing, but does nothing for your health.
I am not an "eat what we tell you is healthy" person. Just trying to point out the marketing ploy: whole grain content is loudly trumpeted, yet there is deep silence about the second largest ingredient, sugar.

There's nothing wrong with sugar. I'm not about to say that this type of cereal is going to be the best breakfast (probably eggs, sausage and OJ would be better), but sugar is a completely natural source of energy found in fruits, honey, etc. People have been convinced that it's some kind of poison; the real poisons are the pesticides that are used.
Not to mention there's more sugar in the serving of milk you would use with this cereal than the cereal itself.
Makes you wonder though on other cereals. Of course you can choose to disregard it or say my "news" didn't say anything. It's up to you to take it for what's it worth. You can actually click to see results further down in the article. So for anyone saying "My news didn't tell me" well has this outfit been sued? Or threatened to be sued for defamation? Article is from March 14 this year.
