Exactly!....These are likely not "new", but returned and/or defective units, that are being sold at the same price as their last batch of (supposedly) "new" (non-open box) units. There's generally no such thing as "new-open box"! If it's truly "new", then there's no good reason (but lots of BS excuses) for the box to be "open"! Think about it? Potentially hundreds of units that are "new", but the boxes are open? Really? A few?....perhaps? Hundreds (which a liquidator like "Tanga" would sell)? I don't think so! Big time buyer beware (for this and whenever you see "new-open box" in the description)!

I pay much closer attention to the negative reviews, as you know that they're mostly legit (all bets are off with positive reviews). Not to mention the numerous complaints here on SD (see the previous threads) and the fact that these are (highly questionable) "open box" units. Just sayin'.

Tanga the company... on Better Business Bureau's site is rated 1.24 out of 5! with 37 reviews

On trustpilot they're 3.7 out of 5 with 736 which is meh and I NEVER order anything from a meh site, but that's just me. Tanga may be a fly by night site and there's to much negative stuff out there for me to give them a try.

I have this from when target had a sale. The temperature is off by about 50 degrees. I've worked through it but ultimately would not recommend this air fryer/ toaster oven

We have it. We love it. Only thing i don't like is the the wind up timer. If i am done cooking early, i have to leave the door open to let the timer run out. The wire basket is also a pain to clean, but comes with the territory. Been going strong for a year now.

For those questioning how a retailer can have so many "open box" products:
Many retailers are required by their contract with the supplier to maintain what is known as "MAP" pricing (Google it if you want), but MAP pricing only applies to Brand New in Box, not Open Box products, so when a retailer wishes to move them at a lower price to liquidate them, that is what they do, sell them as open box.

This exact item and retailer was just FP and sold out a few days ago, I am sure this will do the same. Lots of great info over in that thread. I have this and def recommend for this price.
