it costs a fee to trade it through a bullion exchange. roughly 70$ below spot. if you don't have a local exchange, then you have to mail it in insured then you pay government taxes on your profit it when filing

Sure, coinshops do buy them back or online retailers like JMBullion. Central banks keep adding gold and inflation seems to continue. Gold is like an insurance
