If you're looking for something with a bit more bass, loudness, and oomph I'd recommend the Tribit Stormbox Blast. It's significantly heavier though weighing in around 12.5 lbs. Often goes on lightning deals with coupon in the $145-155 range.

A boombox provides its own sound (via built in radio, tape, or CD - new ones add Bluetooth without losing the radio etc) this is just a speaker that you have to provide sound to, perhaps FROM your boombox via aux in 😜

Costco next is just their membership discount program for companies that have a wholesale discount agreement or something. You don't have to do it from this link, you can go on the official Costco website and search for anker. It'll have a link to their Next page

EDIT: Costco Next purchases count as corporate/bulk purchases, so THERE ARE NO REFUNDS. Oh well

Agreed. It's not as bass heavy as it appears that it would be it's a great speaker nonetheless. It's super light for its size making it truly portable. At this price I'd seriously consider getting it if I didn't already have one.

does IP67 Rating mean i could leave it outdoors under a covered patio permanently and if it rains and it gets soaked (not submerged) it'll be fine? it says "downpours" but also says "splashes" so I'm not sure...

thanks!

I've seen on other Costco Next threads that you have to deal directly with the store you purchase from. So in this case, you wouldn't be able to return to Costco and would have to deal w/ Anker instead.

Is it worth paying the $20 for the new Soundcore Boom 2, over this one?

Appreciate the heads up. In this case I'll pass. I wanted to compare this with original Dre Beatbox. I know this is portable and bluetooth. Just wanted to know if sounded better.

I have this speaker and really like it. For the price you can't go wrong. I pair it with my firestick to watch movies on my projector outside. I always wanted to get a 2nd one because you can pair 2 to create a stereo effect. I would jump on this if I had a Costco membership, but I don't. It has a line in too.

I have one from when the product launched. If you have good speaker then you can tell this Is not a good speaker. Works for normies, def a better price than what I got it for but its not a great speaker. Bass response is really mid, despite its size it doesnt get very low at all, directivity is terrible, gets loud and has a simple EQ app, thats about it.
