Heads up these aren't actually waterproof, just water resistant, and probably not for heavy rain. They're polyester vs the tough waterproof nylon of a brand like to Sea to Summit. REI Outlet often has Sea to Summit dry bags on sale for decent prices. Much better quality.

Don't be scared away by the colors, they also have a red/blue/grey set too.

Good price for a "name brand", while I've not tried these they're worth a shot at this price point.

I love my Sea to Summit's but I hate buying them. My usual go to are the Wise Owl ones when the 3pk 20-10-5L goes on sale on Amz, for around $16, I've had good luck with them on backpacking and kayaking trips.

I agree these are not full submersion, but I figure these Columbia's are smaller and really just more for ditty bag / smalls organization in my pack.

Does the fabric have an inner sealing material, or is it just tent-like fabric?

I've taken to using this kind of bag for clothes and other such things while backpacking in recent years. Much better than the zip lock bags we used when I was growing up.

You would obviously need to ante up for the really heavy rubberized dry bags for a rafting trip, which these clearly are not. Just rain protection, the degree to which varies, hence the leading question.

If you're wondering what size dry bag you need and how much gear fits in each size, here's a guide on dry bag sizes https://coremountaineering.com/ho...ted-guide/

Regardless of what the manufacturer says, if you think you will be drenched in rain all day or floating a river, I would put my clothes/gear in a trash compactor bag, tie it off and then put that bag inside my "waterproof" bag. This worked for me when a raft flipped over in a rapids...
