I got this in late Nov. for 18, barely $3 more. Surprisingly, it's warm enough in cold weather. For super cold with windchill, it might not be that protective, but still not bad with enough layers. I feel it's worth it. You might also go for the thicker one variety which is good for super cold, that I also got on a good deal.

Mine tore on the first day I had it, immediately upon encountering a tree branch. Granted, the branch was my bad. But also, the zipper on mine tends to come undone from the bottom so that the only portion of my jacket still zipped in is where the zipper is. Super annoying and difficult to correct each time it happens. I like 32 degrees for how cheap they are, but I haven't had a great experience with them except for their excellent t-shirts and other basics.

I have this one in a different color. It is surprisingly warm and comfortable. I usually use it over a full sleeved layer and it is comfortable in low to mid 20s. Perfect for fall or spring weather in northeast.

I have this, it is surprisingly warm. Not that durable but given the price, it's great. Not worth more than $30 though.

You hit the nail on the head:
It's cheap garbage peddled to undiscerning consumers.

The company gets to buy dirt-cheap recycled plastic and make garments out of it. Consumers get a shoddy unreturnable "jacket".

This dystopian future needs to do better. We need to demand more with our wallets.

These are cheap, but if you're using them relatively infrequently (i.e. you live in Southern California) they hold up perfectly fine. I bought 2 of their fleece-lined parkas several years ago and it is perfect for CA winters (I get cold easily. Sue me.)
Recently bought this jacket in black and it's great for days that aren't parka-cold. Also great for dressing up like a British roadman.

Can't say I have experience with their poly or puffers, but I've owned a north face looking fleece for about 5 years and put it through some tough winters as an everyday under jacket layer, as well as for random errands as a regular fleece, washed it, dried it, and it looks like new. It's not wind proof, so I'm not saying it's the warmest fleece out there, I'm just commenting on the longevity of this fleece. Seems to be a different story regarding the puffers / poly fill products based on comments unfortunately.

I have heavier and warmer coats, but sometimes you want something lighter and just warm enough when you're out and about. This is that coat, got one for me and my husband and we wear them often with no complaints!

I've had mine for about 3 years. Keeps me plenty warm in Ohio winters. It thinned out a bit, but still warm. The thing I like a lot about it is that it is super light and doesn't weigh you down.
