The word mayonnaise doesn't appear in the thread until your post. I see the word mayo in the top post, but not the original post. The Amazon listing includes the phrase Alternative to Mayo, but the official name is Hellmann's Vegan Dressing and Spread.

So, they already are calling it something else.

I thought this was a place to discuss deals not Matt Gilmore's preferences on anything or am I wrong? Who cares what you prefer or not, I prefer that products that feel and taste like their non-vegan counterparts maintain the name of their non-vegan counterpart. Do you care that I have that preference? I'm guessing no, you don't and I'm glad you don't because that's not what this forum is about. If it was a dumb idea to call it mayo (with very clear text that says "Plant Based"), then I'm pretty sure a company like Hellman's with a massive marketing budget would have name it something else. I'm confident they are orders of magnitude smarter than you are on this topic. I trust their data and marketing skills over some rando Matt Gillmore on the internet. Go cry about your preferences to your silo on Tik Tok or something.
