Sorry about the negativity, but after losing a good amount of time and money because of these clowns, I have to call this out: Stay away from Chase Travel!

They are a useless intermediary between you and the organizer/airline. Everything takes forever, and they are more of a roadblock than help if anything goes wrong with a booking. Never again!
Tried it on both of my UR cards and got "sorry you are not eligble"
I tried the last travel offer from chase.com/mybonus
Still haven't received the bonus from then Frown

Oh, that makes me feel better. I recently booked tickets for my family directly on an international airline's website using my Chase card(earning 1%CB + no foreign transaction fees). Later I was pretty bummed when I found out the same itinerary could be booked on Chase travel for slightly more earning a much higher 5% CB which would have been worth a lot more.

In addition to previous mentions of points transfers as a valuable way to use UR points, Chase Travel is one of the few travel sites through which you can book Southwest Airlines flights. Using points with 25% or 50% bonus value for Southwest is quick and easy. I've never seen a price difference between Chase Travel and Southwest's website when searching for my flights.

I've actually had good luck with Chase Travel. Back at the start of the pandemic, I had a travel plans that were getting shifted a lot. You absolutely cannot get a hold of anyone from an airline, but the agents at Chase UR were quite helpful.

FYI, I'm still fighting with Chase support about getting these points from last year. Sent them screenshots and receipt and they're still saying I didn't meet the offer criteria....

I will have to *totally* agree with this. Let me add more details.
First: I started with Sapphire Preferred and discovered the Chase Sapphire Reserve (the 100K bonus offer Smilie. LOVED the card (and still love it for many reasons).
But... the *main* reason for me to get Sapphire Reserve was the "Chase Travel Portal" (or technically, the ability to use my points for flights, hotels etc.)
When things go well with your bookings through CTP, not an issue.
But when even the tiniest thing goes wrong, whoa. It is a nightmare.
I do about 7 to 8 flights a month (minimum). So, trust me, I have had a # of bad experiences with our company's travel portal and many airlines.
But, Chase Travel Portal (CTP) takes it to a whole another level.

The *worst* part (and PLEASE pay attention here): If you book through CTP, and need to cancel (when it is allowed), the "funds" go back as credit with CTP. It does NOT become eCredit/voucher with the airlines. Fair enough.
But, when you go to USE those eCredits. OMG.
Amongst many crazy things, the *WORST* rule by CTP is: you can use the eCredit only once and when you use it, whatever value is left gets wiped out COMPLETELY.
Let me explain (and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE pay attention): I booked a flight for $300 through CTP. I had to cancel it. Thus, I had an eCredit with CTP. I could *only* use it for the same airline. Fair enough again.
But when I went to use them, I had a flight for $200. When I used the credit (which was for $300), the remaining $100 disappeared (the value was wiped out). I called them/CTP and talked to them in detail.
What I finally understood was: if I would've booked a flight for $1 using the eCredit, then the remaining $299 would have been lost. ALL OF IT! Thus, to use the eCredit (through CTP), you *must* book the flight which is worth the same amount as the eCredit (or higher) with the same airline.
WTF???? Seriosly!

I travel so much (and use the card a lot - even for business travel), hence I had A LOT of points. I am trying to use them as quickly as I can. Once I finish them off, I will shift AWAY from Chase Sapphire Reserve (or anything to do with CTP).
I had switched from AmEx Platinum to CSR. And oh man. CTP has totally soured my outlook on the card. (I actually convinced 4 of my colleagues/family members to switch to CSR).

Anyway, my 2 cents.

So say I booked 2 flights and 1 night of hotel stay, totaling over $200. Would I get 5K or 8K points?

Assuming my bookings meet the date criteria.

Yes - this confirms my experience. In addition, and without going into too much boring detail, because of their poor instructions regarding the cancellation of a flight for sickness, we lost a lot of money, because the airline would not refund/credit. Their arbitration process is a joke. I dropped that card, and can only advise people against it.

Hotel + two car rentals meets the criteria for the max bonus.
I take it these can all be done on 3 separate trips and not 1 trip with hotel + car, then next trip with just car.

So hotel trip. Car trip. Car trip. = max bonus

Hotel is required, but doesn't need to be first. Car. Car. Hotel. would be fine.

So I don't spam you, thanks in advance!

This is probably a "scam" from chase. I have not received my promotional points from previous travel offer. They are giving me a runaround when I call to follow up...🙄

No prob! Yeah, the order doesn't matter at all. As long as the two car rentals and hotel night are booked before June and completed in 2024 then you're set. I had a trip requiring a single-day car rental on each side and another trip requiring a single night in a Residence Inn so I booked all of those using this promo. I probably overpaid by $20 or so but the $150 worth of bonus UR points make up for it. These types of promos post reliably as long as you're careful to follow the rules. they run a script to posts the bonuses so when someone doesn't get the points it's almost always because either A) they're expecting them to post prematurely, or B) they did something that didn't follow the rules precisely and it disqualified them (e.g., booking for a hotel night in Jan 2025, which wouldn't qualify).

Same.

I wouldn't count on actually receiving the points from this offer. I completed it on 2 different cards in Oct '23 and didn't get the bonus on either card. I'm on 2nd round of escalation/investigation and I'm not hopeful. Sounds like this is pretty common, I've only seen 1 comment about somebody actually receiving the points and dozens that haven't. Obvious selection effect there, but clearly it's a common problem.

In my case, the first investigation claimed 1 of 2 cards never activated - this isn't true because a) I'm extremely careful with following procedures on offers like this and b) I tried all my families Chase cards at the same time and wrote down which ones were eligible and which weren't. The 2nd card they claim was never eligible for the promotion. I still have the email from them showing I WAS offered the promotion. So despite what I think is pretty compelling evidence that the issue is on their side, they haven't offered to rectify. 2nd investigation by supervisor is still ongoing, so we'll see.

On the plus side, the customer service reps at Chase UR have been surprisingly good even if they haven't resolved. They listened, took good notes (2nd investigation seemed to have the info from the first), weren't just reading boilerplate and seemed to understand the issue. I'll note this is the opposite from my experience with Chase Travel CS reps who have been pretty much uniformly terrible, so I personally won't use Chase Travel again.

Is it only if the travel is paid for? Or does it include travel where points are used?

Good to know. Would it be as easy as if booked from SW directly when change or cancellation is needed?
