Honda did not change their mind about pulling out of the gasoline powered lawn mower market in North America, they've only delayed it. These mowers are the repossessed units Honda pulled from all North American vendors last year while they got to the bottom of the Honda motor crankshaft pin issue that on some engines caused the motor to seize when pull starting, which caused several people to damage shoulders and arms when starting. After they identified the motor serial numbers with the defective parts they cleared the remaining good units. That's what we see now returning to the market. Once these are all sold that's it, as Honda is moving to the electric motor version they've been selling in Europe for a couple of years. I feel for the commercial lawn service companies, but at least Ariens and a couple of others are sticking with some gasoline models for the foreseeable future…

That depends on if Honda keeps any gasoline units in NA. There's chatter that they may keep their commercial units where there are higher margins, but you wouldn't see those commercial units sold through any big box store with razor thin profitability.

Yep...I own a Ryobi lawn mower and the battery died after two years. $100 replacement

exactly - give the razor away and make'em pay through the nose for all of the replacement blades they'll need for the rest of their lives…that profit model works like a charm and is the original suckers "subscription" business model we now see peddled everywhere…
