I'm not an expert on these nor do I own one, but I did some looking online.

This one says 20 lb of pellets last 4 hours. That means you get 1 hour for every 5 lb of pellets. A 40 lb bag of pellets is $8. So that roughly means that it will cost $1 per hour to generate the 75,000 BTUs.

A 40,000 BTU outdoor propane patio heater consumes about 2 lb per hour at the highest setting. The standard 20 lb take usually cost about $20 to refill. So this would mean that it would cost $2 per hour to run.

So generally speaking, the pellets would be half the cost for nearly twice the BTUs, making it roughly 4x more cost economical than propane. Combine that with never needing to exchange a tank nor deal with a pilot light + having ample pellets on hand (easier to have extra pellets than extra tanks), and it seems like pellets would be the way to go. However, I know nothing about these so perhaps there are other pros and cons.

***edit/addition: The Sam's Club in Michigan sells the pellets for $3.91 for a 40 lb bag. Home Depot has them for $5.58. so depending on the cost per bag, it could be about 8x more economical than a propane heater.

I bought this last week for $200 and I don't regret it at all. A 40 pound bag of pellets costs $8 and burns for about ten hours total. Also, the body of the heater throws off heat and is much more pleasant to stand around than propane that I have. Starts easy with a blowtorch and nearly needs no tending once started.

It's great. If you are on the fence, go for it.

I have a Breeo Firepit sitting on my deck year round. There are 4 12x12x1.5" thick pavers under it for heat distribution. When tested with a temp gun its around 75F even in the summer, i can put my hand under the firepit and the spacers with no issues if need be. My concern is not wood warping from the heat as it takes a long time for pavers to even heat up in the first place. It's the water that gets trapped between the pavers and the decking, to help with that every few months i move the firepit over a bit or off the deck in the middle of the summer.
Breeo and solo produce almost no heat. I can pick up my solo stove while it's raging. These pellet stoves are insanely better at heat production. Ie you can't stand too close to it while it's at max heat, let alone touch them.

Replacement glass or stove?
Sam's is sending a brand new unit. FedEx guy came yesterday, day after it was delivered to pick up the broken unit. I told him what happened and said they would be sending a replacement and he said "lucky me".

He hobbles some so I'm sure he's hoping FedEx doesn't screw this next one up in transit.

Replacement is scheduled to be here tomorrow, 3/28, 3 days after first was delivered.

Would you say that this thing is portable?

In no way. The base of it is very heavy and well built. Could you put it in your truck bed or back of a utility van and transport it? Sure. But I wouldn't say portable.

Alright well I'm glad to report my second unit came and isn't broken. Just put it together. Great quality unit and puts out great heat. Once you get past the headache of whether it will arrive broken or not and hassle of return, the product is great quality.

Mine arrived undamaged and went together easily. Only did about a 30 min test fire, but seems like it will be nice for cool nights on the patio/deck.

When you say cool nights, basically not below 55 foreign height?

Having had both this is bs. You will get burned touching the top of a solostove or Breeo. Breeo gets red hot. This pellet stove barely takes the chill out of the air. Good for ambiance only, I've been loving the look but it's barely warmed unless you're right next to it.

Have used this regularly since I got this deal. It's great out of the box and I've probably burned 15 bags of pellets with no issue. Unit is starting to rust and looking pretty beat up at this point and it's been covered when not in use. Great deal at $149. I'll be looking to replace it with a more durable unit the next time I see one on sale.

Adding my two cents. Mine is going back. I have literally used it once last weekend and the amount of soot it puts out is amazing. It is not the pellets as I use them in another pellet stove with no problem. It is almost like the air vents are not placed properly as the heat really isn't there either. As others have mentioned it is rusting and been on a covered/screened patio. Lastly there really isn't any sort of pellet volume control. It is just wide open or if you can try to finagle the gate to be partially open. Just a really bad product IMHO and I'm glad for Sam's return policy.
