Edit: The descriptions were updated after this post. Both are white, the cheaper one with aniMe Matrix was the same spec as the other one, it went OOS but then they dropped the second one's price.
The CS74 unit has an RX 6800s, and a 6800hs, I'm a bit intrigued however as there are subtle details in the description that don't line up so it will be fun to see what shows up:
1. The cheaper unit seems to be Gray in color, not white, the gray is mentioned with the AniMe Matrix displayโฆ.but then again the description is all messed up.
2. I don't believe it is 8 vs 16GB here. The description quotes the 8GB but the specs quote 8GB soldered and an 8GB SODIMM. I don't believe the G14 2022 was ever sold with 8GB of ram. That almost doesn't make sense at all, this unit has the higher end display and GPU, heck the GPU has 8GB of VRAM, did I Mention it says it has DDR6 system memory?!
Here is a different store page that seems to have correct details: https://rog.asus.com/us/laptops/r...ries/spec/
If your goal is mostly gaming/video/photo-editing or any AAA games, the ASUS is the answer, it is much much much faster in gaming and gaming only. The Asus is also far more upgradable.

Edit: the description is wrong, the 2022 does not have a miniLED display, I thought they were referring to the AniMe Matrix display that Asus once quoted as having "Mini-Leds" inside it.
Edit 2: Description was corrected by Asus, it is now correct.
ROG NEBULA HDR DISPLAY โ The Nebula HDR badge means you are getting the highest tier panel, featuring Mini LEDs with up to 600 nits brightness, QHD 165Hz/3ms, 100% DCI-P3 color with Pantone Validation, among other premium features.

Take a look at this comparison: https://rog.asus.com/us/laptops/r...ries/spec/
Upside is that it has the same resolution as the M1 air but at 120hz, and the rx6800s lays a smackdown on the M2 Max at productivity tasks (and gaming, obviously)

By my read of the spec list, it is $100 more to lose the fancy display on the back and they both have 16Gb of ram.
