If Boost makes this new customer offer available regularly, I can see folks switching from Mint - this is effectively a $15/mo rate.

As a suggestion, Boost should let folks select T-Mobile or AT&T - instead of shipping BYOD customers T-Mobile-network SIMs by default.

I wouldn't switch unless I knew that I was getting AT&t SIM because T-Mobile sucks in my area

Does anyone know after how many gigs does it throttle speeds and does it include any hotspot? I find their website pretty vague on the details (probably on purpose).

I currently have a tablet on an older "unlimited" $25/month Boost plan that includes 30GB of data and all of that can also be used as hotspot data. Since it's not used as a phone, the number is expendable....

12Gig hotspot as per their other link - https://www.boostmobile.com/plans...Link:plans. I might be wrong.

How can you tell which sim you are going to get? And do they let you activate on eSim on Android?

How many days you have to activate the card after you buy it? Sometimes I heard like you have to activate the card 15 days after you bought it

For bring your own device the SIM is activated AUTOMATICALLY on the day the SIM is scheduled to be delivered by UPS unless you are porting your phone number into Boost. It will be the T-mobile flavor of SIM if this is anything like the last flash sale. You'll get an email congratulating you on activating it and you'll go WTF because the SIM probably hasn't been delivered yet. Something to keep in mind. Also the shipping packet is a small white padded envelope. UPS will drop it on your doorstep and the wind can carry it away easily. If I had not been expecting the "package" the wind would've carried it away leaving me completely screwed.

Edit: Forgot the part about porting in phone number which does in fact delay activation until you are ready to do so. Apologies!

Guys, do not listen those naysayers, even if you had bad experience with Boost before, try boost on ATT sim. The best coverage for me and with them for over 2+ years. At least give boost a try, make sure to pick ATT sim. Good luck!

I had visible regular plan in DC metro, and it often congested at peak times, making unusable. With ATT sim with boost for over 2+ years, no complain at all. Have travelled mountains in east coast, through west Virginia and Ohio valley, no problem with connection. You have to in make sure you get ATT sim in boost mobile, heard T-mobile sim sucks.

Can you get eSim on Android though and how to make sure you get ATT ?

There is also ATT through Redpocket for $156/360 days

Wondering why this is 0 thumbs up. I know its slightly more per month than if you had gotten in on the $150 annual plan, but you are also only committing for 6 months rather than a year

The rub is that you cannot pick the carrier. Boost sends whatever they want to send. If you can manage to source a Boost AT&T SIM on your own, and you select to port your number in, you can probably activate on that SIM instead of the one they ship. (If you get a new number, the SIM will be automatically activated. If you choose to port your number, activation won't happen until you go to the website to complete the port info, and you have to enter the SIM #. At least, that's the way it worked when I did it about a year ago.)

This was not my experience. I signed up for Boost Mobile in February, SIM delivered 2/23 by UPS, on another slickdeal for an annual plan, BYOD. Did not activate yet. I checked my account just now, and on the top of my account page with Boost Mobile, there's a clear message that says "You have line(s) that are not activated yet. Boost Mobile may use your information to contact you about your account." But yes, I'm also glad it wasn't a windy day.

I forgot that I did not port my number into Boost which caused this to happen. Thank you for the reply. Have edited my post to correct it. Do not trust Boost to handle my long time phone number(s) so I ported them into Google voice. Logic used is that Google's security with the Yubikey and similar devices far exceeds what Boost has in place. Loving this Boost unlimited service btw. 35 gigs means enjoying everything all the time on my phone!
