There's a reason these are on closeout. They are horrible. Returned them after multiple Dirac Live Set ups.
Speaker wire, a receiver and space.
The msrp on these is a fantasy.
I tried the towers awhile ago. They were okay. The speaker build quality and packaging is not super great so check all your stuff for any in transit damages.
For $600. Prolly a decent entry into this type of gear. Again the full retail is an absolute fiction.

I'm only sus because the only reviews I find are from users on forums or youtube reviews. It wouldnt kill the company to send some for review to some professionals.
These are Chinese entry level white van models. The company sold out and is racing to the bottom. You get what you pay for, and there's no Easter egg in these boxes. Been around audio too long.

There are quite a lot reviews on German and on Amazon.de site.
I don't know anything about speakers, but would this be better than samsung q990c for movies?
I have never heard either, but it looks kind of like "apples and oranges". My guess is the Magnats would sound better, but then you'd have to add a receiver and a lot of wire, where the Q990c is an all-in-one wireless solution that takes up less space. Your room size and listening habits would factor in greatly.
This is better by quite a bit. I have both. These are Bi-ampable and have much deeper bass. I have to cross the Jamo at 120hz, but I cross these at 80hz, and could probably get away with crossing them at 50hz.
They are significantly larger though, if that matters to you.
However, I'm not sure which sub this bundle includes. It used to come with the 12" sub when it was $799 (which is the price I bought at) but now it looks like the main photo is the 8" sub. The individual sub photo is the 12" though...so it could still be the 12".
It should be 12" sub. Here is my order page:
Magnat Signature 507 Floorstanding Speaker, Black
$135.23 2
$270.46
Magnat Signature 503 170W 3-
Way Bass Reflex Shelf Speaker, $131.01 1 Black, Pair
$131.01
Magnat Alpha RS Active
$109.74 1

Just about any 5.1 would be better than any soundbar.
The old saying for car engines applies in this case... "There's no replacement for displacement"
A sound bar is just a redesigned/renamed HTiB. All-in-One Set Up.
...with these you would need a receiver to power them !
Just bought a Samsung HW-Q990C. Should I return and get this set with a decent receiver instead?
As mentioned before, a soundbar and a true 5.1 speaker setup are 2 different things and shouldn't be compared.
If you have the time, space and money available for a true 5.1 setup, it's always going to be better than a soundbar....even if the 5.1 speakers aren't that great.
I don't know anything about this particular brand of speakers, but it's safe to say the MSRP price is an absolute joke and I wouldn't factor this into your decision making. A speaker set that really performs at a $2600 level will never be sold for $600 (assuming we're talking new and not 2nd hand off Craigslist or FB marketplace, etc).
If a set of speakers like this "goes on sale" for $600, chances are $600 is close to what it's really worth.

They are just pushing into the states so there haven't been many reviews here but there are a number of them from Europe.
Overall consensus is solid build, old school look with modern features.
