I ordered this myself, and it came in two days. Over $100 less than I could find any place else. If you are in the market for a spot ERV, this is a pretty good deal.
We had a "high end" home builder build our house about 15 years ago and we lived it in for about 10 years. They couldn't have cared less about efficiency and comfort, only how the end product looked at first glance.
Only since the 2015 IECC have builders been required to increase the air tightness of homes. And many States only adopted that standard a few years ago. The 2021 is more stringent and not adopted in many places because it does add to the cost of every new home. Including those built for households making less than $100K a year.
This is still active as I just bought 1. I built my house 3600sqft and it is air tight. I don't need full outside air. I just want to see if this will overcome the sealed house and associated negative pressure (sucks radon from under slab). Will see if it helps...
Cool. I didn't even see the new model when I was looking for ERVs. Looks like the new one will do 60 cfm vs 40 for this one. I think 40 will be enough for my garage apartment based on positive reviews for this older unit.
That 60 and 40 CFM number refers to when you turn "boost" on, which I presume is not meant to be 100% of the time. I think the nicest thing about the new one is user control over the CFM, rather than having to re-wire the unit.
