This thing saved my 4090 PC and 34" OLED gaming monitor ($5k total) from power surges at my house a few weeks ago when a tree fell and pulled the negative wire from my house. The surge protector got smoked but it did its job and saved my hardware. Bought another one to replace it, I recommend.

I think there's misunderstanding about surge protectors and clamping voltage. I don't want this to turn into a very technical discussion, but the UL 1449 spec has 5 editions. The most important one is the 3rd version. The 3rd version currently has much more stringent testing standards, especially on clamping voltage. The same surge hardware under the older spec (1st and 2nd 1449) may be 330v while under the newer spec it may be 400-500v. I have an older version of this exact same model from the mid 00s. It says 330v on the bottom. I don't believe this has worse internals than mine even if it now says 500v

Have one of these. Good plug configuration if you plan to plug a lot of devices in as it gives ample room for large adapters. Plug itself is very low profile. Otherwise no issues.

Have a couple of these and have been satisfied with the configuration and general layout. No issues. Seeing $20.99 on Amazon.

I just bought this exact one from Amazon for $21 a couple weeks ago, and it says the clamping voltage is 500V.
Yeesh. 500V clamping is poor

I have at least 8 of these around the house and office that I've accumulated over the years. My use case is office tech, nothing super high powered. Only had 1 die of unexplained causes, and Belkin sent me a new one after a 5 minute text chat with customer support. At this price it's worth it to have backups in case another one dies.

This is one I bought after finding their UL listing on the UL website. It was important to me they were listed.

Woot lists this as having a 90-day warranty, so I think it's unclear if the Belkin connected equipment warranty will be honored. Cheers

This is exactly what I need it to protect. OLED monitor and gaming rig. Thank you. In for one.

If you buy this brand new (say from a big box store or Amazon), the warranty is lifetime I think. All you have to do is file within 15 days of the "occurrence" (When the power strip breaks due to surge).

Keep in mind there is a lifespan on these and once you get a surge (even a small that does not trip the unit) they will not protect anymore. Plus you need to know that surges can go through coaxial, Ethernet, and HDMI cables and destroy your electronics, they all need to be protected.

Best protection will be to get something that has 330v clamping, but I can assure you, that after doing lots of research into the main brands (APC, Tripp Lite, Belkin, Cyberpower) that it is like finding a needle in a haystack to find a 330V surge protector due to the stringent UL 1449 3rd edition testing standards. They can be found, but they are not common.

Does this grip plugs well enough to mount on the underside of a desk?
Yes, I've had mine loaded up, mounted beneath my adjustable-height standing desk, for about 5 years
