The 783DC is on sale for 170 at Amazon, anyone have a comparison to offer between the two? https://a.co/d/iLKF9b8

I can't comment on this particular product, but I've come to the conclusion that Vornado is way overpriced and underperforms. I have no idea why anybody would pay $175 for a small pedestal fan. It's a fan. The technology isn't that special. It blows air.

I can't comment on this particular product,
imho vornado is worth some premium,
but such a 7" circulator can be found for $50
so buying this stand nonsense that does not
even oscillate, is a colossal waste of money.
the whole point of a circulator is that it blows
up from the floor, not from table height Frown
it's as pointless as hanging a ceiling fan at
shoulder height.

I own the 783DC & it's a great fan. Biggest difference aside from metal construction / vintage look is the fan speeds. Vintage is 3 speeds, 783DC is a fully adjustable fan speed with turn dial.
That being said, the vintage has a far superior quality build to it & this is the cheapest it's been in 5 years.

I have the Vornado VFAN Sr. model (not the this one that has a pedestal). It goes great with my fake wood mid modern century entertainment centerpiece. It has the little legs that go outward so you know it looks good. I love Vornado's. I've had few of their regular models and they are the best air pushers I've ever ran in my house. They shoot air from angles you ain't ever farking seen before.

Overpriced, I agree! But under perform? Not so much!
I own 2 arms full of Vornado products, and while I despise the price at times, they always 'do' what they said they would do. Case in point:

Wow $170 is quite a bit to chew for this model Frown I have been using floor version that sells for $50 at Costco and it has been fantastic. Though, my only issue with it was the fact that it is on the floor and no filter on any debris or hairs. Yes, you can take the back panel out to clean it but it is still a hassle. This stand would definitely keep the fan blades cleaner but I am having hard time justifying extra $120

Buy your own merv 13 filter material and custom fit it to whatever.
