FYI: The documentation says you can only add 8 (or maybe it was 10) leak detectors per gateway. If desired, you can add more. Just add additional sensors like you add the first 8. One of my gateways (old style like in this hot deal) currently has 19 sensors on it.

FYI 2: If you want to add one to an area that is conductive metal that would trip the leak sensor, say an AC drip pan, just put a small piece of paper towel between the detector and metal surface. Some folks do this even for non-conductive surfaces - the theory being that any moisture contact with the paper towel will wick water in triggering the sensor. (Multiple probes on the bottom of the sensor need to be wet to detect a leak.)

You can get it to send text warnings instead of email by getting your phone number email address. For instance, with Verizon (and Xfinity) it is your number [email protected]. I get so much junk mail that it is easy to miss the alert email. Not so with text.

I bought the sensors as a three pack when they were on sale last year and can confirm they were great. This is a great reminder that I wanted to add about five more sensors around the house. Question, if anyone knows: if I buy additional sensors, will the new version work with the old base? Or do I need to only buy more of the old sensors to add on since I have the old base?

Or you can name them when you set them up initially.

Not meaning to be snarky, just a hint for someone setting up for the first time.
I forgot to do that, but in my defense, it was a good way to test if they work.

Wish I could figure out a way to integrate with smartthings. There are instructions you can find online but I've not been successful with them with all of the smartthings changes. Not a fan of the govee interface.

Are anyone have experience with both versions 1 and 2? Im tempted to pull the trigger for this one, but are the upgrades in ver 2 worth the wait for a deal?

These things are great. This is the older version as someone mentioned but it can accommodate up to 10 sensors. Connection to wifi is a bit fiddly but works fine when you get it connected. It needs a 2.4 GHz wifi connection.

This seems a decent price. The 3-pack with gateway is also on sale for $30 ($44 - 32% coupon), which is about what I paid a year ago.

Any reason to get the 3 pack with gateway for $30 as opposed to 2 pack with gateway for $20? The per sensor price is the same but (assuming I want more than 3 sensors), the deal seems better worth the 2 pack with gateway right? Can have a backup gateway in case one fails if you were to buy two of the 2 packs?

Just wondering if anyone tried pairing these with Moen water shut off valve (known as flo by Moen)
BTW, Moen smart water detector can be paired; but there smart detector is crazy expensive. Wanted to buy these if these can be paired so that in the event of water leakage it will automatically shut the water supply.

How's your experience with flo by moen?

One of the best gadgets in the house, it saved us from wasting water from the running faucets or running toilets (water sensor cannot detect those) plus it gives us useful data about the water used in the sprinkler system (provided no one else is using water at that time, meaning it gives a cumulative water used during that hour). Our water runs early morning when no one else is using water, hence it is easy to see how much water is used during that hour. All in all, I like it very much. Plus you can shut off your water remotely.

I bought one of these and it sat for a while, finally tried to get it set up yesterday.

Biggest pain in the ass I've ever experienced.

Gateway refused to see my networks, so I had to enter that manually. Then it wanted me to take my network off 5ghz, down to 2.4ghz which didn't help matters and it just kept flashing the same error.

I ended up tossing the whole thing out of frustration. I have other Govee stuff, so I know they aren't the best with user experience but extra frustrating because there was no guidance at all as to what the issue was, instead I was getting useless error messages like it was 1995.

Maybe the newer ones work better, I'll never know.

Just seeing this now and not seeing a coupon to clip. Anyone else? Dead maybe?
