Already have USB outlets... the true upgrade is with PD so you don't have to use laptop bricks anymore and just plug a USB wire directly to an outlet.

Can you explain more?
power delivery, PD is a part of the USB C charging standard that is desirable to stick with if your device(s) support it. What is USB Power Delivery and how does USB PD work? (androidauthority.com) [androidauthority.com]

Most Laptops would require more than 25w though, right?

Yes, that's why you need a 65W outlet. There are a few on Amazon.

We'll have come full circle once USB is revised to provide 120V 60Hz AC. Big USB will have secretly forced all of our outlets to change shape from the 2+1 prong that goes back 100+ years to this slotted oval.

They will then sell us adapters that go from USB to the legacy 2+1 prong.

Why are these so much more expensive than regular outlets without USB ports?
i've wondered this as well; a regular basic 15A outlet like this is maybe $1.50 all day every day, and a basic two-port 25w type c charger is like $8 [amazon.com]..wait so i guess $10 seems reasonable and i answered my own question. nevermiiiind ugh

Yep, I only put these on the end of my run when doing my kitchen and bar area, because there's no room for other wires with this in the box (and a lack of a second set of terminals doesn't help)

They work well though, doesn't seem to charge as fast as proper wall brick on my iPhone but it's much easier to leave a cable nearby than try to track down a brick every time I need to charge while doing dishes or something

Good deal, wish it had a surge protector. I'll pass, and use an external unit with surge protector.

Do they have non-tamper versions? Really don't like this style outlet.
