I absolutely loved this game on my Sega Master System as a kid. I definitely recommend picking this up but I realize I have so much nostalgia for this game that others won't have.

This was my precise recollection of the game: frustrating.

This reminded me of a much more compact, no-nonsense version of Champion's Road [youtube.com] from Super Mario 3D World.

That looks difficult too. The mouse man stone level is especially annoying because the mouse is poor at jumping and you have to be precise to platform across the level. If you're on the second part and get hit or miss a jump, you'll land back down to the beginning. I asked the developers about it in their Steam forum and they said they intentionally made that particular level ridiculously hard in comparison to the other stone levels.
