Yeah that's literally all Amazon does nowadays - match Walmart sales... How the turns have tabled.

This is a decent reel, a quality entry level reel. I've been fishing for 30 years and enjoy it still. Damn I'm getting old....

I think this is just amazon matching the ongoing Walmart sale. As far as I can tell comparing the stx and the max x, the stx just has an extra bearing and a trolling switch.

Have caught several 5-7lb large mouth with this reel. I'm not an avid fisherman at all, just have some hogs in my pond but this reel does the job and feels as nice as some of the $100+ reels I've used.

If it was $55 I would have bit... $65 least expensive combo, but even that's a decent deal.

This is a throwaway saltwater reel. It's not quality. Rinse it after use, and when it inevitably dies you just buy another. No point in cleaning these. They aren't $300 shimano calcuttas or something actually nice.
