That being said, great device. I bought an ROG Ally instead and love that more because of the size and weight. It feels more like a gaming device whereas the LegionGo feels like a luxury device that i was too afraid to lay down on the table or hold too close to my pets.
These handheld gaming PCs are amazing. Easily the best gaming purchase I've made in quite some time.

Okay, if you hook up a external GPU then that's basically a laptop or desktop. I think you are missing the point of what a PC handheld is used for.
It's just something the $300 Asus ALLY, New vs used, can do that can make it more powerful than the used Lenovo Go.
The ASUS Ally and Legion Go both support external GPU usage. Both require a dock but the ASUS Ally requires a proprietary port / dock to be able to support external GPUs limiting what GPUs are allowed on the Asus Ally. All 3rd party external GPUs are a no go. Another note is that the official dock cost substantially more because of the proprietary port they use making it cost more than $300 to get to what you are talking about.
If you want to be helpful either stop talking or go research your topic before saying misleading information.
Again, for the base product of the Asus Ally Extreme vs Legion Go are similar spec equivalents. Going the cheaper route isn't bad but you get lower spec on paper and the use cases, form factor are slightly different. Comparing just the price and telling people to go buy a laptop does not factor anything in besides the price. Your suggestion of an external GPU disregard price and it's original use case.
