This is free on android via netflix. It's a decent game but not worth more than a few bucks once the nostalgia wears off.
I disagree, and I know it's subjective. This game definitely relies on nostalgia to capture you, but the gameplay is fun and great for modern audiences. I play with my 7 year old and this is his favorite game. He enjoys it even more than some of the Mario games he plays. I also don't think games played on a phone can compare to playing on a couch and big screen.

I'm glad you're enjoying it with your boy! I used Dex and played this on a big screen as well as on my phone - also tried out multiplayer. Just didn't hit me like the original TMNT arcade. My boy wasn't much of a fan either. To each his own for sure. To me - that's a steep price for an NES remaster - but if $17 has you enjoying a game with your son - worth it all the way for you!
Just adding to the other comment, this is better than a retro game. It basically plays like a retro game for that feel, but it's modern so it's not designed to eat your quarters at the arcade, so it is less frustrating.

I understand wanting to emulate the arcade experience, but pretend broken CRTs aren't exactly desirable for games.

That is a setting you can turn off or on. It's just a filter
Cool, thanks for the info on that one, I was looking for a setting - but must not have been on the right menu
Good point thanks!
