possible to use this as a car charger? I have 4 used 400W panels. It seems the max is 1000W solar charge so 3 panels should pull that in. Possible to hookup my panels and just plug in my charge adapter ?

Edit: I live in so cal and the rates here are average 39 cents per KWH
If you're talking about charging an EV, this will provide very little.
I have a Model Y and a 7500kwh battery bank and I use it to charge my Tesla when I have excess but it's more like a hobby for me.
I have 900w of solar and plan to add more but on a great sunny day, I get about 4-4.5 kwh.
Then when you're talking about power loss moving it to the Tesla, I'm getting maybe 3.5 kwh.
That's maybe about 12 miles on a good sunny day.
I'll add more panels but with what you have have, you can maybe get 15-20 miles on a good day. If you drive very little it may work but it won't work for most people.
Like I said, I do it for fun because when my battery bank gets full, I need to dump it somewhere or else I lose all the excess energy.

This is a good deal.
We're talking about .32 cents per kwh which is fantastic.
The problem I see is buying from Wellbots and make sure the Oukitel still warranty their product buying from Wellbots.
I've bought from them before and I went through fine but I'm leary of buying high ticket items from them.

Thanks for the input I thought it may have been too limiting with the 1000W solar limit, but It'd be perfect if this supported up to 2000W of solar power. The 4 panels at 1600W are generating around 8-10kwh average a day, If I was able to to do 2kwh input i could generate about 10-12kwh. That would be pretty good for my Y since I commute twice a week only, and i do short errands around town here and there.

I'm talking to Tesla about getting two Tesla powerwalls and 7.2kwh system for 25k after incentives so that might be better for me. In so cal rates are averaging around .40 a kwh! I used to pay average of .19 cents 2 years ago... In the past 12 months I paid almost 4k in electricity..

I'm the market for a power station to hook up to solar and this is a great value but manufacturer seems a little too sketchy to bite. Their website seems to indicate warranty only applies to products bought on the us.oukitel.com website.

These things are coming down fast in price, I'll just wait until there's a killer deal on ecoflows or ankers

Interesting deal, sad it can't be hooked up to transfer switch/used as a home backup.

so basically get 1 for a 500 sqft tiny house.
it would be perfect.

kitchen not really needed.
have some solar panels of at least 1000 watts.

refrigeration = 50-100 watts = most important

cooking? debatable how much you need but will be recharged by end of day.

heat/ac is the main issue hot temps will need 450 watts

heat will kill your power btw. preferably do not use heat and instead burn gas if necessary otherwise it will only last 3-4 hours for heat will need 10-20k system for heat instead and 3-4k panels.

baby steps and dont forget to claim tax credit

Hey, it's me again.

I've had mine for nearly two weeks. Here's some notes.
  1. I didn't do anything to it and it's outputting 120V from battery power through the 120V20A outlet I'm hooked up to.
  2. I'm using it as a UPS in my server rack, and it's passed every single test I've put it through. None of my networking gear or servers powered off - with an average load of 450-500W - I've yanked the AC input 10-20 times at this point and it's never hiccupped once. It says 8-9 hours of power at that wattage.
  3. The UPS mode engages automatically and works great. It detects load and supply - and automatically turns the UPS mode on (indicated by a UPS icon on the LCD)
  4. It beeps in UPS mode. [Edit - there's a silent mode, see below] I believe the system is either powering the BMS/inverter with battery power while in UPS mode (to ensure it's ready for rapid handover) - or it's merely conditioning the batteries letting it discharge/recharge a certain percent every few hours. But for whatever reason, when it flips into this momentary discharge cycle - it beeps.
  5. The speaker/beeper is internal - located next to the USB power outlet section. I may need to open the unit some day and cover the speaker with a piece of duct tape or put some rubber cement in the outlet hole of the Piezoelectric beeper. But that said - it releases a beep maybe 6 times a day?
  6. It's incredibly heavy, holy crap.

EDIT - Support has informed me that pressing and holding the USB button (that toggles the USB charge ports) puts the P5000 into silent mode. This seems to work, and a small mute icon appears on the LCD

Thank you for the update. I have considered this for battery back up and an RV when travelling.

When people say home backup solution, most people are implying the use of a transfer switch or interlock hooked up to the battery backup via 1 cable usually with a nema 14-50 or 14-30 outlet capable of at least 20A. this does not have that kind of outlet. i would not consider a unit that you have to run multiple extension cords to different devices/appliances a real home backup system.

Also, the ones that can do 240v will allow you to run central AC/ central heat. This unit cannot do that. Even if the capacity for running central AC would not last very long, it will work. More importantly, it will run central heat that runs on natural gas but still needs 240v electricity to run the thermostat and electrical component to turn on/control the central heat.

The EF ultra is a much different beast and far superior to this. The closer comparison is the EF Pro which is dropping in price dramatically (you should know, I believe you have posted or commented on some of those deals. It takes 2 unit to do 240v but at least it is capable of that. Even without 240v, it at least has a 14-30 outlet for interlock connection for your 120v devices.
That part about the furnace is wrong. Really comes down to your specific system as there are some different ones, but most central natural gas furnaces are actually 110v, and the standard thermostat voltage is 24v, which comes off a transformer within the furnace or air handler...though there are some very old ones that use line voltage. Air conditioner condensers, and air handlers for heat pump or resistive heat is all 220 tho.

Deal is still live. Loving my P5000, tempted to buy another. Some notes

1. You can enable silent mode (no beeping) by pressing and holding the USB button (that ordinarily turns the USB power output on/off) for 2 seconds

2. You can enable "Constant Power Output" mode by double-clicking the AC button. This mode enables the peak surge wattage the unit is rated for (~4000W) - otherwise it will run in a more efficient mode and overload around 2000W.

3. My unit was passing through/outputting 120V60hz power by default, leading me to think earlier customers might have received units in the wrong mode for their region. Frequency can be switched by pressing and holding the AC button + Power button for 3 seconds, and output voltage can be toggled by pressing the AC button ten times in a row.

I have had really bad experience with Oukitel. I bought the P5000 in July. Didn't start using it until September. It stopped charge through solar in February. I could smell that something burnt up in there, probably a relay. I messaged Oukitel's customer service and a week went by with no response so I messaged Wellbots where I ordered it from. Told Wellbots the situation and they reached out to Oukitel and I finally got a message from Oukitel. So they asked for info and a video of it not charging so I send them everything and they said they will send the info to their colleagues at their warehouse. Couple days go by and they said to send it in. So I send it to their warehouse in California. Waited a few days before I messaged them to see what's going on and they ghosted me for 3 weeks. I can see that they've rear the message but won't reply so I reached out to Wellbots again and told them the situation and they reached out to Oukitel. Finally they messaged me back. And they tried to say I damaged the unit that's why its not working and they showed me a picture of the unit damaged. So I asked them are they sure it wasn't damaged during shipping? And the shipping box was good?(I just wanted to see what the reply was because I know I have a video of it sent to them without damage) they responded and it was not damaged during shipping for sure. So I told the customer support women that her colleagues are lying because I told her to scroll and and look at the video I send and it shows no sign of damage. She said she will talk to her colleagues and get back to me. 2 weeks went by again without any responses to my messages. So I involve wellbots again and they finally messaged back and said they have fixed it and are sending it back soon. I messaged them back and said we'll since your colleagues damaged my unit. Please replace the damage case. I received the unit back a week later. Haven't checked to see if it's the same unit but it had a new case on it.
So long story short, I would never buy from them again. If it wasn't for Wellbots I would have never received the unit back. I also saw someone post a video on YouTube that they sent the unit in for repair and never got it back. But the unit works good when it works
