Nobody charges 0% or 10% to full every night. I only did that 2 times in the last 5 years. All other times we just need to top up 30-50% of the battery.

Yes. 5-15 is the standard household receptacle.

I'm not seeing anywhere that it's UL listed / safety certified. That doesn't mean that it's unsafe, but if you're planning on using it for regular charging I'd recommend spending more for an EVSE / EV charger that is. Saving money is great, but these things use a lot of power and cheap ones can melt or even burn down a house.
Check out the YouTube channel State of Charge for videos that discuss the risk and review level 1-2 EVSE / EV Chargers.

Good price. Don't know if it will stack but allegedly they'll send you a $15 off $75 coupon if you give them your email.
The $15 off couple is not stackable with the discounted prices. The price is good enough for me to pull the trigger. In 4 1.

Is this one as fast as Tesla's mobile connector? I believe that one is a 40 amp?
Not the newer gen Tesla MC. The wall unit will go higher if properly supplied and what your Tesla will accept. 32amps is good for most. Its what i use.

It is not about 4 or 5 hours. It is about 8 hours or 10 hours or 11 hours. 40 amg is almost a must if you want to only charge it overnight (8~10 hours). 32 AMG means 11 hours. Model Y battery size is 75 kwh to 82 kwh. 220V * 40 A = 8.8 kwh * 0.91 = 8.2 kwh, so from 10% to 100%, it could easily take 10 hours.

the gen 1 is 40 amp, but you cannot get it anymore
the gen 2, due to thinner wires, are capped to 32 amp

but honestly... it doesn't matter. if you need fast charging, neither is fast enough, if you charge over night.. who care if it takes 4 hour or 5?

yes and yes. except why would you charge from 0 to 100 on regular basis, do you really drive 300 miles everyday? and if you do, why wouldn't you just stop by super charger instead of doing a full cycle on battery?

realistically speaking, the super off peak is from midnight to 6 am, 6 hours. 6 hours at 32am at 220v, that's 42kwh vs 52kwh. so 10kwh difference. at 3.5 m/kwh for model Y, that's 147 miles vs 182 mile

if you drive 182 miles and want to take advantage of super off peak, then okay. but if you don't drive 182 miles, or don't mind the extra hour in the off peak rate, i see no difference beween 32 amp or 40 amp. and for the vest majority of people who drives less than 100 miles a day... it literately just the difference between 3 hour or 4 hours charge in the middle of night, which as i said, NO ONE CARES.

Depends on the dryer plug and if it's 30 amp or 50 amp.

Also depends on when your house was built. Before mid nineties most residential dryer plugs were three prong NEMA 10-30, after mid nineties it's mostly four prong NEMA 14-30.

Then no. You'll need to run a new circuit with wires rated for 40 amps at 230V and put in a NEMA14-50 plug for this.

NEC allows for 50 amp NEMA plugs to operate at 40 amps, since no 40 amp NEMA plugs exist. You just need appropriately sized wires and breaker.

If it's a 30 amp plug, it doesn't matter. This is going to pull more than that continuously.

The wall charger option that's not on sale does list a UL certified, but the mobile charger does not. That doesn't sound goos for safety.

Yea I think for my Tesla I would rather get the Mobile Connector from Tesla for $250 which will charge the same or better than this and have the peace of mind knowing it wont burn my house down. Is it really worth it to skimp on such a thing?
