First I've heard of it, but I'd like to learn more. Got a citation for that claim?

Edit: found an article discussing it. There has been no legal finding that 3M knowingly did this, but settling the case certainly lends credence to the idea that wrongdoing occurred. The earplugs in question were developed by a different company that 3M acquired in 2008, so there's a bit of a stretch in claiming that 3M "knowingly" did this, but regardless, I agree that it's indefensible for any company to market safety equipment to veterans (or anyone else) without ensuring their effectiveness.

3m knowingly made 100s of thousands of veterans deaf with their defective ear plugs. I wouldn't buy anything from them for "safety"

They did knowingly do it that's why there was a whistleblower who had to be protected. I'm involved in the litigation trust me. They acquired the company that made the plugs, Aero and were told they were defective through internal documents and testing. They hid it anyway. Then when it went to court they tried to spin the company off and declare bankruptcy to avoid paying. Scummy company. That's why they got taxed 6 billion.

Obviously like most ppl in this country no one gives a shit here about veterans and thus I got like 6 downvotes to 1 up. Oh well it's the truth. If you still wanna buy 3m products that's on you. I try to avoid them personally where possible. And I certainly wouldn't trust my eyesight to them

"Involved in the litigation" but says "got taxed 6 billion" = random service member who is part of the class-action and not a legal authority.

And I'm a veteran. 🤷

Edit: wow! Downvoting a fellow vet. Classy! 😂

If these work as well as their ear protectors I'll hand these out as stocking stuffers to all the people who have wronged me in life
