The Apple 13" MacBook Air now features the Apple M2 chip, which has many improvements over its predecessor, the M1. The Apple M2 integrates the CPU, GPU, Neural Engine, I/O, and more into a single system on a chip (SoC), this time utilizing 2nd-Gen 5nm process technology. Tackle your projects with the fast 8-Core CPU and take on graphics-intensive apps and games with the 8-core GPU. Accelerate machine learning tasks with the 16-core Neural Engine. The M2 also features 100 GB/s memory bandwidth. The M2 was also designed to speed up video workflows by adding a next-gen media engine and a powerful ProRes video engine for hardware-accelerated encode and decode. This means the M2 can play back more streams of 4K and 8K video. Complete with a silent, fanless design and up to 18 hours of battery life, the MacBook Air is still portable, but now a lot more powerful. It also has 8GB of unified RAM and a 256GB SSD.

Because all other chips are 100 percent secure in every way.
Apple has already said they can not be patched with software. It's happened to Intel before as well. Hardware companies, federal gov, and media instructed people to replace them. Later Intel did a patch but severely hurt performance for those that kept them. Expect something similar from Apple.

Great deal. Lowest I've seen was military exchange for $799 (where I got mine). These will be $799 in the near future, less once the M1s sell out.
If you want a bit more performance, MagSafe, 1080p camera, better speakers/mic, notch, more color options, 100 nits more brightness, a bit longer OS longevity, this is it. If none of this matters to you, M1 is still excellent while they last. $650 still at Costco, $699 elsewhere.

You can't compare these. Modern ARM MacBooks are almost as secure as iOS and [properly built] Android phones. The ARM chips inside these are so much more secure than x86 ones that even with this vulnerability they run circles around the patched Intel and AMD CPUs.
Is this worth 200$ over the M1 air? Still available in store at some costcos for $649
I'd say yes. With the newer design with the larger screen, MagSafe charging, higher brightness, better web cam, better speakers, better bluetooth, better processor, more years of software support, pretty much an easy decision there. As much of a value driven price $650 offers, keep in mind the Air M1 is already about 4 years old, so it's going to have less support than the M2 at some point.

Wrong. All experts are saying the same thing. ARM vs x86 has nothing to do with this. And these chips are not as secure as clearly this is now known.

I had to return my M1 Air due to screen quality, it was almost fuzzy to my eyes. The screen quality was so bad that it gave me a headache, I wear glasses BTW. If you can afford it, I'd say always get the Pro models with better screen resolution.

Wow, retina display is fuzzy? You wouldn't survive back in the days when monitors were 1024x768.
