Not 100% sure, but if Fisker goes bankrupt, then I believe Magna Steyer (Ther Manafacture) is responsible for the warranty. Just texted my service tech today and he isn't going anywhere.... I think main issue is the software support.
Magna's customer is Fisker not the person whom buys the car from Fisker. Magna has no responsibility to the end user as they did not sell the vehicle to the end user- Fisker did and they are responsible- if they go bk it will have to get settled in the courts. Fisker used Valmet previously for the Karma and when they went BK the whole mess had to get sorted out by the courts. Bottom line Magna will not be responsible for anything and is a creditor to Fisker (just like the owners of the vehicle).
i know. he said "I'm curious what happened to all the early adopters that bought at full price over the last few months..now seeing the same car priced at 40% cheaper."
and i said, just go back and ask the people that bought the model Y at 80k to see how they feel now that the car is 40% cheaper. ofcourse its not true anymore, otherwise what i said would not make sense
At least those Model Y are still getting updates and improving.
Fisker already failed once with his Karma car, now he will fail again with the SUV. Who wants to buy a company run by a 2 time failure at doing EV
companies that want to get into EV will either invest in RIVN who already has a real backer like Amazon.
Lucid is backed by Saudi so maybe they will survive but the declining stock price says otherwise and reduced production and demand.
No EV company is making $ except TESLA. RIVN is still losing a shit-ton of money per car sold and they have the best shot as a pure EV play.
In 2021 2464 total FCV cars sold in all of Japan. In 2022 it was 848 cars. In 2023 just 422.
Nobody but Toyota sells them there at this point (Honda having abandoned the market) and it appears nobody wants to buy them either.
In contrast in 2021 EVs sold 20,008 units, in 2021 it was 31,592, and in 2023 43,991 electric cars.
The story mentions sales of FCV vehicles (already hilariously tiny) also dropped by more than half in Germany and Korea....and that market forcasts have fool cells at 0.01% of the worlds cars in 2050.
It's a trash dead end tech nobody is interested in. Toyota remains stuck on the sunk cost fallacy with it, and it's not like they've got any OTHER "innovation" to tout even if they can barely give the things away anymore.
PSA: Ignore this person. Do not buy a hydrogen fuel car unless you want to abandon it after its range reaches zero or you happen to have a hydrogen fuel station nearby and zero intent to use the car for road trips.
LOL. Hydrogen is only available in California. Once theres more stations built and price of hydrogen comes down, its way better then EV.

Pretty sure he meant the time go GO there and BACK. Gas station near me is about 5 minute drive but adding time to get ready, go out, then finally get into the car and drive it's at least 10 minutes each way + 5 minutes at the station then I used to take me 25 minutes to gas up.
Of course you can always gas on on the way home so you don't have as much time but maybe that's what the other poster meant for his 30 minute gas station run. Maybe he goes to Dunkin enabled gas station or MCD attached and he enjoys a nice coffee or BigMac.
I charge at home for $0 so I don't need to detour to gas stations or go to superchargers like some people who do not have home charging. So time is 0 minutes and $0 for electricity.
It's a huge time saver to not have to go to gas stations and certainly having the car "topped off" everyday at a lower cost is a huge gain.
To Hydrogen fuel, looking up the infrastructure needed, it's like going to the gas station and it's super expensive to build one and it will NEVER happen. Hydrogen Tech is too dumb and too cumbersome.
You get free electricity? Also, if someone has to make a special trip every time they get gas then that person is doing something wrong. You get gas when you are already out. People who sit around doing nothing so much that they just say, "I think I'll get off my ass and make a special trip just to get gas." truly need to bring something of purpose into their lives.
WTF are you doing at the gas station for 30 minutes, banging the gas station attendant?
Or why are people making special trips just to get gas? So they can waste gas and have reasons to bitch about gas prices? Fill up when you are already out. NOT THAT HARD!

The idea of hydrogen is more favorable than EV long term for our planet IMO.
Building these hefty batteries is not good for our planet and especially with the material that is indeed to build them will eventually run out.
Toyota is sticking with hydrogen, just like their hybrid technology,

It can solar charge 3-4 miles per day on bright sunny day. You will lose more than that because your car needs to stay up to take that charge. Model Y is most efficient as car can sleep when not in use.
I also park in the garage. I am not going to park outside.

BYD already said they are not coming to the US.
Oh, then surely Japan has adopted hydrogen a long time ago, right?
Oh, wait...no- turns out Japan also sees what a garbage solution Fool Cells are.
