Japan doesn't even get especially cold where most of the people live.
Go look up Tesla sales in Norway sometime to see how ridiculous your argument is here. (they were about 1 in every 5 cars sold there in 2023).
There's reasons EVs sell in very low #s in Japan, but weather ain't it.
You haven't been following the news lately. Japan and Korea are both very cold in the winter. I never said weather was a factor in pathetic sale of EV in Japan. Japan is into other tech such as hydrogen and fuel cell. They are also the pioneer and leader of HV. Hybrid Plug-in is as far as they would go. They won't do a full leap on 100% EV.
The same fiasco in Chicago also happened in many parts of Northern China during freezing weather, and China claimed they make the best EV batteries in the world. Idiots are everywhere. But in reality less than 1% of people read the car manual, I'm guilty being the 99%. I met two Tesla newbies trying to get free electricity, but they don't even know they need some adapter to charge J-1772.
Norway and other European countries are exceptions to the rules. Norway is subsidizing EV, and give owners tons of unheard of insane incentives. It's actually cheaper to buy a Tesla than buying a gas car. Imagine yourself in Manhattan where parking is expensive and limited, and because you drive EV you get to park for free. That's going to be a huge factor in buying an EV.
Model Y specifically? You should just say Tesla. Outside of the S all models pretty much look the same.
I am no Tesla hater and respect what the brand has done for the EV market and really tech/safety driving features in general. But the Tesla "look" is definitely getting a bit tired.
Perhaps Tesla should consider hiring the designer of this well-put-together car. I am not sure if he is open to it. By the way, I think the Tesla design looks appealing to me.
I'm seeing a lot of disgruntled posts! I can't tell if they're upset with their current EV purchase, or the performance of their Fisker stock holdings??

I just saw one in a parking lot last week and holy bleep it looked freaking awesome. It really stood out, it's the best looking SUV in this size and style for sure.
I have no skin in the game. I get the trepidation. But I don't get the bashng. I hope they get some funding to help them pull through.

There's plenty of other reasons to avoid buying it- but yours is not one of them.
