I would go for that since I hacked my infotainment system. As long as it doesn't mess with the cruise control or brakes like a tesla does.

this is why a rav4 prime would be preferable because toyota and lots of spare parts.
Of course you can always gas on on the way home so you don't have as much time but maybe that's what the other poster meant for his 30 minute gas station run. Maybe he goes to Dunkin enabled gas station or MCD attached and he enjoys a nice coffee or BigMac.
I charge at home for $0 so I don't need to detour to gas stations or go to superchargers like some people who do not have home charging. So time is 0 minutes and $0 for electricity.
It's a huge time saver to not have to go to gas stations and certainly having the car "topped off" everyday at a lower cost is a huge gain.
To Hydrogen fuel, looking up the infrastructure needed, it's like going to the gas station and it's super expensive to build one and it will NEVER happen. Hydrogen Tech is too dumb and too cumbersome.
So electric companies set up a solar plants FREE
Then they offer Electricity FREE
Well...because it's FREE
The people that move a wire every day are there already so the TIME they spend daily doesn't count either.
There is also 0 depreciation and 0 premium over comparable ICE
Well I think a lot of people are buying them and not looking at the big picture.
When the Mach E came out I considered one and I asked in a Mach E forum how people could justify spending so much money on a car where the payback was inconceivably long. the honest people basically said they didn't care and they were buying it for the tech, etc, which is fine.
I don't know even if you're considering the "greenness" of EV's that they even pan out for that, if you look at cradle-to-cradle.

Some localities do offer "free" (no immediate OOP) power during certain times of the day, mostly for leveling purposes, but what do people think is going to happen if EV's take up a considerable portion of the auto fleet? Is that power going to be "free"? Will you still be able to drive on the roads for "free" (e.g. not pay to maintain them)? Probably no to both questions. The issue is when.

Open source. Works on a variety of vehicles depending on what kind of sensors they already have installed. Don't think that Tesla owns self driving.
Oh yeah and it's about $1500 and is transferrable. Compare that to Tesla's FSD which is $12k and they can/do strip that from the vehicle on resale.
