I was gifted a used freezer similar to this one. It's awesome - I can buy bulk and sale items and store it so it's a money saver.
That being said, if you can swing it, I recommend the taller standup freezers. It's a PITA to fish items out of the bottom of these chest freezers and you can lose track of what's in there. I have a system where I put things into grocery totes, but it's still a PITA.

get an upright and ignore comments about air loss when opening. once you fill it up there is minimal air loss and convenience more than makes up for bit less overall efficiency.

example for few more bucks

I got a chest freezer and the problem I have is that my local grocery store puts meat on sale faster than I can eat it so I feel like I'm missing out on sales now because my chest freezer is full and I can't fit anymore.

Going to need a reliable source for only a "bit less overall efficiency". I agree on minimal thermal loss (there is air loss but the thermal mass on air will be negligible when filled).

Regardless, they serve different use cases. The drawback of the chest freezer is of course getting to item at the bottom. Their upside is better thermal design when idle, when opened, and generally cheaper (for the same quality, this is "generally" and there will be exceptions). If your use case doesn't require you to grab the things at the bottom often, then a chest is great.

Upright freezers win over chest freezers for convenience but chest freezers are an engineering marvel by how less energy it utilizes and is savings as these run 24x7x365.

It is garage ready for those who don't want to read the fine print. I don't have much experience with TLC products but they seem to be on the cheap end. The warranty section has some jargon and doesn't state any claim...

If you do purchase I would keep a close eye on that power light on the front. Also remember the thermal mass inside can keep your food frozen longer if it fails or the power goes out.

Make sure you get a temperature monitor to show you if it ever goes up to thaw stuff and refreeze.
Or, go cheap and old school and place a penny on the top of a small frozen jar of ice. If it all thaws, the penny drops and you know.

Just freeze an inch or so of water in a jar and put a penny on top of the ice. If the penny falls to the bottom then you'll know for sure.

If your chest freezer is full that's a pretty strong indicator it's time to just coast and stop accumulating food.

Yep, from the product description:

• Garage Ready - Freezer is designed for ambient temperatures up to 110° F so it can be placed in the garage and keep food frozen.

Now garage ready normally implies the freezer can be out in a garage that sees freezing temperatures in winter without breaking, but this "garage ready" freezer only mentions excessive heat.

My garage gets way hotter than 110 in the summer heat.. it damn near gets to be 110 outside these days.
