I have the baby brother of this, the MX-ST5CB and had high hopes. I also have a JBL Partybox 300 which I absolutely love. I got the ST5CB for $99 from Costco last year (closeout) and the main issue with it is the accompanying app is completely useless as are the buttons on the speaker. Switching sound modes is completely a mystery which mode you are on. Also, the sound is not as rich as my Partybox. I kept it because,, well, it was $99, but I wouldn't spend $400 on one unless you just need loud and don't need any granular control of the speaker.

I have this. Sounds great. IMO, it is worth the $400 but definitely not worth the retail price.

I got mine a few days ago and have to say, this thing is an absolute beast. The sound quality is incredible at every volume, even 100%. I work in a manufacturing environment and took it into work to use for the last two days and this speaker has blown everyone away. My biggest gripes are the fact that this model doesn't have a battery (understandable) and the app is absolutely atrocious. Samsung should be ashamed to have put out such an amazing line of speakers with app support that looks like a middle schooler's IT class project.

I was very pleasantly surprised that the different sound tower lineup models will sync together. I also have the Samsung MX-ST5CB and that was so impressive that I rolled the dice on this model too. They fact that they are able to be paired well probably never be useful for me but is still an awesome feature

I have the smaller one (MX-ST5CB) and it sounds great but just like a previous poster noted, the APP is terrible. I got mine for $85 so it was well worth it.

I received mine yesterday from a previous slickdeal and the sound is pretty amazing but there are some con's.

SIZE - This speaker is massive in width and looks out of place in my house. It comes with wheels but they are plastic and by the looks of them, will likely break in the coming years but only time will tell. I am still considering returning it because of how massive it is or selling to a family member who will pay me what I paid for it. Once I received it and saw how big it is I kept asking myself, "where the heck am I going to put this thing on the daily?" . I thought it could fit in the corner of the living room or my office but now I'm thinking I really only have one place to put it, in the garage. It's an eye sore if it's in the living room because it just sit's out of place to everything else. I don't have a small living room by any means but I just don't know how it could even be used as a speaker for the TV because the speakers are angled, you will never hear the audio directly on you unless you turn the speaker one direction which means the second set of speakers will just bounce audio around the room.
Connectivity/Mobile App- The mobile app is terrible, if you have ever wanted to see what the worst mobile app created this is in the top 10. Bluetooth does not work without the mobile app which is the dumbest thing I've ever seen for a bluetooth speaker, someone tell me if I'm wrong about this because I looked everywhere in the instructions on options to connect with bluetooth without using the mobile app. Also the instructions do not mention anything about the mobile app.... call me crazy but what kind of user experience is that..
SOUND - no complaints here, it's loud, bass boost will boost the bass and make windows and kitchen cabinets shake. At peak volume it is very clear and no distortion
