Let us know about ink/cost of ownership as well. It's a recurring slickdeals theme over the years, in this product category. I have yet to see a color laser all-in-one that didn't have dealbreaker issues up the wazoo.

I've had the 644 flavor of this since Late 2019 was $100 less SD back then. Yup inflation is real.

Zero issues with Canon toner. Generic toner black keeps leaking in the first hundred pages. Office world generic and LD

Brother laser or forget it. Even if you pay $100 more for brother at least the older models lasted with generic.

I have this printer wjdnit prints nicely, better than my previous HP. Replacement toner is a bit more expensive than brother, but I haven't had to replace any yet.

I can't wake up mine every time sending new jobs. Have to go touch screen to wake it up. This problem went away briefly after firmware update but came back after a day or so. Any idea?

Give the printer a static ip address- you do this in your router setttings not in the printer settings.

Similar issue with Canon....Stick with Brother, 3 brother lasers with no issues I think 1 is even a refurb

Can anyone speak to the software on this model? I currently have the MF642C/643C/644C model and it's been pretty solid for years, but configuring it was a pain. The webui software looks like it was made in 1988 and looks like about 8 separate pieces jammed together in a non cohesive glob. I know that all printer software is pretty terrible for the most part, but it seems the model canon I have is exceptionally bad. Not really a deal breaker since the printer has been so solid, I just wondered if it has improved.
