Konami shifted to mobile game development mostly. They make casino games and mindless, in-app purchase heavy games. Probably keeping the IP because it is valuable. Check out Bloodstained if you haven't already, it was made by the creator of Castlevania whi left Konami.

Symphony of the Night alone for $4 is a STEAL - it still holds up incredibly well too, so if you never got around to trying it now's a perfect time.

I miss a real, 2d castlevania. I love all of them, from the OG platforming to the handheld and PSX RPG style. I don't know why they aren't jumping on the metroidvania hype. So many great games are stealing their spotlight. They could make so much money with a new one if they would resurrect some of these stories and plots.

New age gamers only play Fortnite, COD, GTA and sports game. The old demographic or hardcore gamer doesn't matter in the eyes of these companies anymore. This is why live service and subscription based model is on the rise.

These Castlevania ports have butchered audio forced through the tinny PS4/PS5 controller speaker. I have no idea why Konami would do such a thing, but that's how it is and there's no option to route all audio through the TV.

Wow, thanks for the warning.
Instant not-buy for me in hearing this.

The Bloodstained series of games is the spiritual successor by the original developers. I think there are three games now.

The advance collection are great games, but they need remasters. Sotn might be one of my top 3 games of all time. These games are all fun. Worth it at these prices. Also, if you like these types of castlevania games, can I highly highly recommend bloodstained: ritual of the night.

That's why I'm trying to say . Some remastered would be awesome . They are way too pixelated for today's monitors . Like I'm playing Minecraft lol

Is there any way to play this on PC? (Besides emulators) I love this game.

I remember buying it for the PS3 back in the day on the PS Store, I'm guessing I can't downlaod it for my PS5? If so, that sucks.

Nope, no PS3 backwards compatibility. The Xbox 360 port however is playable on XB1 and Series X|S.

I wish! It still seems to only be possible via emulator.
