Amazon [amazon.com] has Misto Oil Sprayer, Set of Two, Silver for $9.49. Shipping is free w/ Prime or on $35+

Description
  • MISTO is a reusable oil spray and mister bottle that gives you the convenience and health benefits of typical aerosol sprayers but in a more healthy, economical and environmental way
  • Fill MISTO with your favorite oils, vinegars, lemon and lime juice, sherry, or marsala wine. Great for dressing salads, breads, or cooking
  • Easy-to-use pump style cap features a 2-step operation: simply pump the container, then and press the valve on the pressurized sprayer for an even mist
  • Environmentally friendly, the non-aerosol sprayer doesn't use chemical propellants, and it's refillable, so no more throwing cans away to end up in landfills
  • MISTO is BPA-free - threading the cap on incorrectly allows air to escape and in turn does not allow the bottle to build up pressure to spray

I used to own these many years ago. They clog like crazy and I went back to aerosol spray oil.

To keep them from clogging you must loosen the top before storing. This allow the oil to drain back down the stem. Not dishwasher safe.

Did they improve the design at all in the past ten years?

Just chiming in to say I bought one of these like 10 or 15 years ago and more trouble than their worth unless this is a better more improved design. Either doesn't work, clogs or something else. Don't even think I made it all the way thru the first batch of oil I put into the contraption!

I got one a few years back for my air frying everything phase. It can handle spraying thicker oils than olive, (in my case avocado), but results were hit-or-miss. Sometimes it spattered out in an optimal 'spray' pattern, while others it sort of streamed out in a solid 'beam'. Streams of oil tend to go everywhere when running into chicken, so I left it alone and went back to brushing oil on things. If I always put the same amount of oil, and pumped it the same number of times, results may have been better, but I got better things to do than learn this temperamental thing's discipline.

If making a mess isn't a huge concern, 2 for 10 is pretty great. I think a silicone brush is better though.

I have a couple of these.

There's a slight difference between the glass and plastic versions. The glass version that I have came with a little filter on the end of the feed tube, which I eventually removed as it got gunky and couldn't be cleaned. The plastic version didn't have that filter. I'm unsure if that's an update or just a difference in the versions.

The mist on this is better than the squeeze bottle alternatives which are more like a spray. It is dependent on pressure though, when fully pressurized it will be a mist and towards the end of its charge it will be a stream.

Be careful when cleaning as if you do it wrong it can result in a tacky soap-oil sludge that's impossible to get off.

While not a aerosol, I have been using this one daily since November and it has worked great. The spray type is dependant on how you press it down though, if you are slow then it comes more like a steam. If you pump fast it is a fine mist. Just noticed It is on sale right now and has a 50% off coupon too which brings it down to about 7.50. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0...asin_title

It's a heckuva deal. I've owned one of these for many years. I stopped using it for a long time. I didn't remember why at first, but then it hit me. It does have an issue. The Misto aerosolizes a lot of excess oil into the air in addition to the spray that hits the pan. I don't think it's dangerous, but I try not to breathe it. Most Pam-style non-stick sprayers seem to go a little more where intended, but they aerosolize too. All of that said, it's a well-made, reliable product, especially if you want to know what oil you spray on your food or the pan. I might buy this deal for sesame oil.

I would buy these for the reusability factor but they always clogged on me as well. Sadly, aerosol it is for me, too.

These are one of most annoying products to use. I bought misto 2 years ago. The pumping feature isnt worth it.
When my pant is hot, I end up finding out I need to pump before I spray, so have time to move my pan away from heat to prevent burning my food. This happened multiple times, and you have to pump a lot (10 times or so) to get 2 sprays.
Ended up going with a chinese product off of amazon which works just fine without needing to pump. Been so happy with it for over a year now.

I thought it was just me! I have 3; and all started clogging. Never stored under pressure, cleaned often; I should just toss them.
I definitely paid more than this deal, though!

These gunk up and get sticky. Once the nozzle is clogged there is no way to clean them. I have tried soaking in degreaser and clearing with a fine pin. Just end up tossing it.

The oil in them goes bad faster as you are pressurizing them with regular air which oxidizes the oil faster unlike the propellant in the aerosol cans.

I only use these for water and other basting liquids like apple juice or vinegar for bbq. Oil always clogs and gunks these things up. If you bake bread you can spay the tops with water before you bake for crusty bread. Spray bbq with apple juice or vinegar for a flavor enhancer after you pull the meat off the grill. Even works with simple syrup to spray cakes.
